Vehicle Detail

This is a 1972 Chevrolet C10 Custom pickup that will be sold to the highest bidder. This is a no reserve auction. This is a good old truck to restore, turn into a shop truck, or just drive it as you restore it. The title is free and clear. It is an original v8(350 4 barrel carb), 3 speed turbo hydramatic transmission, disc brakes, heavy rear spring, short wheel base, fleetside, and steelbed truck. Please see the photo of the options on the label inside the glove compartment. The engine runs good and the transmission shifts properly. I have not driven it on the road. It is not currently insured and I don't want to get ticket from our local police. I have moved it around in the yard and put the rearend on jack stands to make sure the transmission is still shifting through all the gears properly. It shifts correctly going forward and it goes into reverse. I have let it run long enough to warm up. It will need some valve cover gaskets and I can't say when it was tuned up last, but the engine runs good. The engine sounds good and runs quiet. This C10 was last on the road in 2012. I replaced the starter on 9/20/14. That was the reason it was not being driven. The lights work. The original key ignition cylinder needs replacing. I can start the vehicle and it can be driven onto a trailer. I would recommend a thorough check of fluids, tires, rubber hoses, fuses, light bulbs, etc. before trying to take a long trip. This truck was being driven on needed occasions for work around the house prior to the starter started acting up. The dash and radio section has not been cut. The dash pad is in poor condition. It is cracked. The body requires replacement panels at the rocker panels, small rust areas on lower inner doors, and the cab corners need attention. Please see the photos of the hood. It is very solid, but has a small dent on the passenger front. Please see the photos of the grill, front bumper, tailgate, and the drivers door. Please look at all photos of the body. The roof and the drip rails are in great shape. The inside of the bed is in good shape with some surface rust. All of the glass is with the truck. The front windshield is cracked. The firewall is in good shape. The floors are in good shape. I couldn't find any rust through in the floors. The frame is in great shape. The cab to frame mounts on the body are in good shape, however on the driver side there are some small holes near the rockers(please see photos). Please see the photos and ask about any of your concerns. Please ask if you have any concerns at all. Please ask any and all questions that you have prior to bidding. You don't have to guess or wonder about anything. I will give honest and prompt answers to all of your questions to help you make a good decision about whether or not you should bid on this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Custom. I could only upload 24 photos. Please let me know if you need more. Please only bid if you are capable of finishing the transaction. I'm located in Duluth, GA 30096. I suggest bringing your trailer or dolly to get the truck home. I will help you load and secure it. If you do decide to ship the C10 with a transporter, that will not be a problem. I will assist your transporter with loading, securing, and promptly send you photos of the loaded vehicle as the transporter leaves me. Please bid to win. I'll do my part to take care of you. Thanks for your consideration. On Sep-26-14 at 14:15:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello. I was not comfortable just jacking up the rear end to test the transmission. It shifted good, but the more I thought about it I realized that there is no weight on the ground. Having no weight on the ground prevents a realistic test of the transmissions shift strength. I want good feedback at the end of my auction and don't want anyone feeling they were misled. Today (9/26/14) I jumped in the C10 and drove it up the road. I had a little fun with it. It is pulling off very strong going forward and in reverse. The engine is strong. I gave it plenty of pedal taking off and it changed out good, but there is a hold during the shift between 2nd and 3rd gears. The hold is noticeable. It does it also on the downshift as I applied brakes to stop. I drove the truck 3.5 miles I just wanted to let you know this information. All bidders have been notified of this new information. Thanks!
