Vehicle Detail

1965 CORVETTE COUPE - FRESH RESTORATION This Corvette coupe has had a very recent frame-on restoration. About 150 miles have been put on the odometer since completion. The restoration process included the following: BodyNew red paint (original color, base coat - clear coat)Newly re-chromed original bumpersNew windshieldNew window trim and weather stripping around door glass and windshieldNew door handles inside and outChassisNew ball joints and A-arm bushingsNew rear monoleaf composite springUpdated brake system including 67 style dual master cylinder, o-ring caliper pistons in calipers with stainless sleeves, and all new linesNew adjustable rear strut rodsDrivetrain Completely rebuilt 1965 327 engine (not numbers matching), including new pistons, bearings, etc, Howards cam, Summit cast iron heads, Edelbrock 600 carbNew clutchAll new u-jointsAdditionalNew under hood wiring harnessNew aluminum radiatorNew heater core, hoses, etc.Rally wheels (original hubcaps go with car)Nice clean interior (black)IssuesThe new pressure plate requires what I perceive as a shorter throw than normal to disengage. This places the clutch pedal at a lower level then the brake pedal. It functions very well, but it's something that should be mentioned. The headlight motors were checked for operation before and after the resto and worked fine. In the last few days they have decided not to open with the switch. Once open, however, they close properly with the switch. I have a new switch on order that will hopefully cure the issue. If not, could be a wire issue.Side exhaust seems louder than normal. Could be an issue for some or a bonus for others. Thought I should mention it.This car was restored with the intention of keeping it which is why some steps were taken that might not have been necessary, such as installing the monoleaf spring, replacing all the u-joints, etc. That also means that I wasn't overly concerned about complete originality, such as the Edelbrock carb, Summit heads, rally wheels, etc. Therefore this car may not win any concours Corvette shows, but it presents itself very well and is a very nice driver quality vehicle. Unfortunately we are forced to part with it for personal reasons.Feel free to email or call (414-810-9316) with questions or to schedule a viewing. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING On Sep-26-14 at 07:44:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Added on 9/26 - The headlight "closing but not opening" issue listed in the original information has been resolved. It turns out that one of the connectors on the wiring harness was not totally snapped in place on the firewall. They now open and close properly. Also, there have been questions about the quality of the paint since it is not clear in the photos. I would classify the paint as high quality.
