Vehicle Detail

0 0 1 279 1595 The VMC Group 13 3 1871 14.0 96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Offered at no reserve. Bid to own. Here is a beautiful, PHS documented, highly optioned, Grand Prix originally with a 455 from Arizona. Have the Protect-O-Plate and other original information. This car is in great shape, with great sheet metal and chrome. There are a few scratches, chips and rust spots in the paint. I drive this car, as it is my summer weekend car. It is not a trailer queen! The console says SJ, but I can’t find the documentation saying this is an SJ, so I am saying that it is J. The PHS shows that the 455 was a paid for option, which leads me to believe it is a J. See the PHS for all of the other options on the car. The interior has been redone, including the headliner and door panels. Vinyl top looks fresh. Don't know when it was done. All power windows work! Engine is currently a YS Code 400 from 1971. The heads are #96, which are correct for the engine. The 4-bbl intake is currently an Edelbrock. The correct #485912 is included and has been reconditioned (see pics). Also has Pontiac Long Branch exhaust manifolds. Currently installed is a 71 Q-Jet 7041262. The correct 4-bbl QJet, 7042262, is included and had been rebuilt at some time. Winning bidder gets both carbs. The transmission is a strong shifting TH400. Non-posi rear. Power steering is typical for the era and is heavily over-assisted. Brakes require a good leg, which is also common for these cars. Also included is a full size spare with a bumper jack. The A/C has been removed, but the compressor and brackets are in the trunk. Underside is nice and solid and what you would expect from a Southwest car. Pics show floorpan, frame and suspension being solid. Yes, the car could have been cleaned before taking the pics, but, as I said, I drive the car. When it is clean, the paint shines nice and bright. Now some disclaimer info: This is an old car, it is far from perfect, and it is not a trailer queen. After sitting it is a little hard starting, but always lights up after some cranking. The vent fan sometimes works. The passenger door lock and the wiper motor do not work. The dash has a crack that is seen in the pics. There is some under hood surface rust. A previous owner added an aftermarket tach nicely installed in the dash where the clock would be.
