Vehicle Detail

Very rare 1960 Chrysler Windsor Convertible.  If you are a Mopar fan and like the Forward Look, this is a rare opportunity.  Ok, ok its not a 300F, but my guess is that there are far fewer of these around today than 300F's.  The car is just an awesome looking body style. The car is equipped with the "Golden Lion" 383V8, Torqueflite pushbutton automatic, power steering, power brakes and remote driver's mirror.   The car can best be described as a 20 footer.  It throws off a good appearance but upon closer inspection, the defects can be seen.  Please look at my 14 years of feedback on Ebay, so feel confident in how I am describing this.  From the looks of it, the car had a paint job 15-20 years ago, as well as some other things.  Most are of an amateur quality.  So the choice would be to leave it as is and improve a few things to just make it a driver as is, or restore the car and have a killer rare finned Mopar.  This is in the eyes of the beholder.  The paint is fair overall with a few blemishes, the bumpers have been replated.  The top is decent, not perfect, but the back window is cloudy. The interior is OK, the seats have been redone with what looks like correct material.  Door panels are original and show some wear.  Dash pad is nice driver quality, and it looks like with the ribbed pattern on it, its from a '61.  The pot metal is ok in some places and pitted in others.  The car runs OK, I just spent over $2000 on the braking system including shoes, cutting drums, master cylinder, front hoses and wheel cylinders, as well as a few other small details. It still needs a few more details to drive right away but they are minor in nature.  I have had the car for 7 years and have had it sitting all that time, so it could use a carb rebuild, the fuel gauge does not work, the top motor spins but pistons are not hooked up presumably because theres a problem, so top goes up and down manually.  Radio does not work, brake lights don't either.  It has an exhaust leak on the passengers side at the manifold doughnut, etc, etc.  Just needs some details to drive as is, I have not driven it other than around the block a few times during my ownership.  My intention was to restore it fully as I am pretty particular, and that has just not happened in 7 years......we all know how that works.  I do not know if the mileage of 78,000 is original or not.  I have checked the casting numbers and they indicate it is a 383 V8, but why its been painted blue I have no idea. The floors overall are OK there has been some patchwork here and there and it has been undercoated.  It has had a trunk floor put in it.  There is evidence of some patchwork down low in the quarters and fenders.  Rockers look like they may have had some work done too. Overall, the body presents itself as pretty straight and not wavy, but again, not a show car.  From 15-20 feet away however, it looks pretty nice.  I have tried to show as much as I can in the photos below. So there you have it.  I am a long time collector, so please feel free to call me and ask questions 201-406-4423.  I am in northern New Jersey as is the car, titled in my name. If the car is not sold, I will bring it to the Hershey Car Corral for the big AACA show October 10-13 it will be in space A68.  I expect a $1500 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction via Paypal, and the full balance within 5 business days after the end of the auction, paid via bank wire transfer.  I am firm on the fact that the car must be paid for in full within the 5 business days after the end of the auction due to the Hershey show coming up October 10th, so please understand. I welcome you to come look at the car prior to the end of the auction. I can work with a shipping company and can handle selling overseas. This description warrants nothing, the car is being offered on an as is where is basis with all faults, and there are no warranties or guarantees express, written or implied. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Now please wait for the many photos to load.>
