Vehicle Detail

What we have here is a ONE OWNER 1969 Firebird 350 with the Turbo 350 transmission. Original window sticker!, temporary tag, and other paperwork included. It has the rare tilt steering option and the deluxe wheels option. This car was driven regularly until parked in a heated garage in 1985. It has sit since then and has not been started in 29 years. It was running and drivable when parked. All 4 wheels turn very freely. Engine was rotated over with a breaker bar and turned over freely. Car was serviced regularly with oil changes and lubings. All front suspension grease points show heavy grease and are in excellent condition. This car was never wrecked. Engine is not leaking ANY oil onto ground. Rear end is not leaking at all. Axle seals, wheel bearings and brake cylinders are not leaking, although the brake pedal is stiff. Muffler is rotted out, although exhaust piping is intact and useable. The worst part on the car is the rear quarter panels. They are showing significant rust around the wheel arches, although the upper part of the quarters are in good condition. The driver's door is showing rust perforation in the bottom corners with a hole about the size of a dime. This rust perforation is to the flat outer door sheet metal. BOTH DOORS OPEN AND SHUT LIKE NEW! There is no sag when the doors are opened, hinges are in excellent condition. The Passenger door shows virtually no rust! Both front fenders show significant rust in the bottom corners, but can be repaired. All rust is non-structural. The entire underbody of the car is intact and showing no rust holes ANYWHERE. Floorpans and trunk floor have no rust holes anywhere in them. The firewall is showing no rust at all. The area around the windshield trim has no rust holes. The Passenger door does have a ding above the body line that is easily repairable. This car was never wrecked. The only dents on the car are the ding in the passenger door and a dent on the very bottom of one quarter panel behind the wheel that would be. The upper half of both quarter panels are in excellent condition. The hood is in excellent condition. Everything under the hood is all original. All the body panels are in alignment and undamaged and showing the original dark satin finish that could be cleaned and put into service as an unrestored original finish. Of course everything is covered in dust. The engine is as it was when it rolled off the showroom with the exception of the plugs/wires/cap/points/condenser. The battery tray is rusted severely and will need to be replaced. The core support and mounting points are in good condition. The only rust under the hood is the battery tray! The interior of the car is all original. Everything is there, intact and reusable with the exception of the rear package shelf cover that is warped and peeling and will have to be replaced. The carpet is intact with no tears or holes. The carpet is faded, but could easily be re-dyed without a lot of effort and would be serviceable. The front seats are in excellent condition with the exception that each seatback has a seam that came apart that could be re-sewn. The rear seat is excellent and shows no tears or holes. All the seats have that "45 year old" dull look that could be brought back to life with a thorough cleaning and or re-dying. Door panels are in excellent shape with no holes/tears/fraying. Rear interior side panels and headliner are in good condition and have no holes and are not warped or coming apart. Seatbelts are there and intact. Door weather stripping/rubber is there and useable. The passenger door trim/felt at the top of the door was damaged and will need to be replaced. The original radio is included. Dash and door panels have not been cut out or gutted to fit stereo equipment. Dash pad has a few typical cracks but is not disintegrating. Steering wheel does not feel loose. Really, the only thing that needs to be replaced inside the car is the rear package shelf cover. Inside the trunk you will find the original spatter paint finish, although there is extensive surface rust in the lower portion. Trunk mat is missing. Original jack and Tiger Paw spare is included. Both shock mounting points inside trunk are solid and show NO significant rust. With a little work this car could be put back on the road as an unrestored original without the expense of a lot of reproduction parts. Original window sticker is included! Original temporary tag the car rolled off the showroom with along with owners manual, warranty guide, Model year lineup guide, and other miscellaneous records included, all showing the original owners name and address! Bid!
