Selling my 72 Challenger 340 4 speed #’s matching engine, non numbers transmission. Car is a real 340 pistol grip 4 speed console Challenger, non rallye which is actually pretty rare. It was originally black with the white interior and white pinstripe but previous owner decided to have it changed to FC7 Plum Crazy purple. Build sheet and fender tag there and in VG condition. I bought this car around 2009 freshly painted but in boxes disassembled after the previous owner stalled out on it. I have since gone through the interior with all new legendary items, completely rebuilt the numbers matching engine to 68-71 high compression specs plus a little extra, rebuilt 72 model transmission using brewers parts, redid the complete fuel system tank forward, rebuilt the entire brake system, added 3.91 sure grip gears etc, the list is seemingly endless but I will try to account for it all below. I have lots of receipts but can’t find them all. I put the car together for something to do on the side and did the best I could on what I touched. It’s a cliché I know but the car is a driver. Not 100 point restoration but built to look nice, and drive/perform soundly and be enjoyed. There are deviations from how it came but it isn’t hot rodded or raced out. It had new ¼’s and trunk floor done, original floors are excellent. I have pics when the carpet was out and you can see how nice they are underneath. Paint is nice, gets lots of attention, not perfect but again it’s a driver and was intended to be used. Every single item in the brake and fuel system is new/remanf! From brake booster to calipers, to lines front to rear. Everything inside rear drums. New gas tank, sending unit, lines, Carter street fuel pump New Mopar super-stock leaf springs and hangers Remanf power steering box from Lares, ps pump too All new belts and hoses, all new wiring under the hood, new Mopar battery Electronic ignition, new distributor and ignitions box, MSD wires. Aluminum radiator, didn’t want to take any chances messing with old crusty radiators and overheating! New cooper tires and new 15x7 and 15x8” steel wheels All new weatherstrip front to rear, new antenna, new mirror, new pit stop gas cap List is endless. Too much time and money too list it all.
