Vehicle Detail
Offered for your consideration is one of my favorite bikes, my 1977 Triumph Silver Jubilee. She is showing only 13,732 miles from new, although she may have a few more on her before the auction ends. Most of you are familiar with the Silver Jubilee edition, there were 1,000 of them produced for the U.S. market in 1977 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II. These bikes quickly became sought after collectors bikes, and many of them wound up in motorcycle museums around the world. They remain one of the most desired Triumphs ever made. I have owned her for a few years, having purchased her from a fellow Antique Motorcycle Club of America member after pestering him for years to sell her to me. Mechanically she's in superb condition. The engine is strong as an ox and you can run her at highway speeds all day. The transmission, carbs, brakes and other items are all in top notch condition. The engine does not burn oil and only leaves enough drops of oil on the ground when parked to let you know she's properly British. She is without fail a one or two kick starter. She has been serviced by John Ireland at The English Patient north of Los Angeles. He is one of the foremost British bike mechanics in the U.S. He rebuilt the carbs, set the valves and timing, and pronounced the engine in top shape, needing nothing else rebuilt or serviced. The front tire is in good form, however, I'd recommend changing the rear one soon as the tread is down to about 30%. She is a matching numbers bike and I have a clear title in my name. Cosmetically, she is original so her paint, while shiny does have a few chips and small scratches and there are a few areas where the battery boiled over sometime in her past that discolored a few splotches on the paint. From 5 feet away she looks almost new. The blue paint on the front rim is about 75% and on the rear wheel about 40-50%. I really hate to part with her, but I own north of 25 motorcycles along with too many other toys and there's just not enough room anymore. Spreading out riding time between that many bikes mean most of them don't get ridden enough. I'm an Indian Chief rider first and foremost and my Indians tend to be the first bikes I pull out for regular riding. That's what is prompting me to make the tough decision to part with some of my collection. For the winning bidder, I will be happy to assist with shipping both domestically and internationally. She is 37 years old, so needless to say you are buying her as is, where is with no warranty express or implied. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to tell you to fly in to Las Vegas and ride her across the country if you so desired. I travel to California quite a bit so if you are on the west coast I can possibly bring her to you for a nominal fee to cover fuel. I expect a non refundable $1,000 deposit within 24 hours of the auction's end with the balance paid within 7 days. I will accept paypal for the deposit with the balance to be paid by money order, wire transfer or cash. Anything other than cash I will need 5 banking days to make sure there are no issues before I release the bike. I can store her for about 30 days maximum if you need a little time to arrange shipment. I'm not interested in any trades since the marching orders are to cull the herd, not swap one bike for another toy. If you are in the Vegas area you are more than welcome to arrange to see her in person. No joy rides, tire kickers and dreamers please. I have a perfect, 100% positive feedback history on ebay and that's for a reason. I have her for sale locally and do reserve the right to end the auction early if she sells. I also retain the right to reject bids from zero feedback bidders and/or bidders with significant negative feedback. She's a wonderful bike and she'll make somebody very happy. Good luck and happy bidding! On Sep-16-14 at 20:00:44 PDT, seller added the following information: A number of folks have asked for a video of the bike running. Here you go:
