Vehicle Detail
Very nice 1986 X 1/9 re- done several months ago, in very nice shape now, and it drives great No known rust at this time, but no guarantees.... it is a Fiat/Bertone after all. Painted the original Rosso top color, but I did not do the bottom the original two-tone black because I don't think it improves the look of the car. The paint shows nicely, but is not Pebble Beach quality. there are some very slight ripples in a few of the steel panels that can be seen if the light angle is just right. Mechanically it runs very nice, and is a hoot to drive. More fun than you would expect from 1500 cc's. Items replaced include: 3 out of 4 calipers, all rotors and pads, 4 tires, brake master cylinder, speedo cable, clutch, timing belt, alternator belt, plugs, plug wires, air filter. Interior fabric is an off white... not the most practical color. It looks good, but not pristine. The dash board was badly cracked, so it's been covered with black vinyl. Not perfect, but much better than before or one of those ugly carpet dash pads. The odo reads 19,300, but the speedo cable was broken. Previous owner estimates it's more like 30,000 miles. The front center air dam panel and the front grille were missing and I could not find replacements, so both are hand fabricated from steel. Door panel courtesy lights also fabricated and now are LED. The car does not have A/C. All the electrical items are working at this time. The brakes are non-power assisted so require more pressure than you would expect. Stops fine when you re-calibrate your foot. If you live near by and are interested, please stop by and see the car. If you are farther away, I did a video using this car about X 1/9's in general a while back, and a more recent video going over the above points. Youtube links aren't allowed on eBay, so you'll have to go on Youtube, do a search on "Sonordrum1000" to find my channel, and the 2 videos will be obvious. *************Yes, this car was on eBay recently, but after several months of trouble free driving, I noticed some oil on the garage floor under the drivetrain. I therefore pulled the ad off while checking things out. Turned out to be a small leak from the left stub axle seal. It's now replaced and leak is gone, and the car is 100% once more, so it's ready for re-listing*************
