Up for auction is this great classic survivor FJ55! It is a 1973 Toyota Landcruiser FJ55. It has approximately 80,500 original miles. It was found "resting" at a home in north central Washington where the owner had lost interest in it. It hadn't been used much in the last 12 years because it wasn't running well. The fuel tank has been cleaned and the Carburetor was rebuilt along with a fresh fuel filter. The head was removed and taken to NAPA where it was completely gone through, receipt for this is included. The pistons and cylinder walls were inspected at that time and were found to be in excellent shape. It was put back together and with a little tuning, the F1 motor was purring after a quick turn of the ignition! Amazingly it runs down the road at 55 mph with no problems. The tires all hold air but do show some weathering from age. I'm sure a new set of tires would be a great improvement. The clutch seems to work fine and it goes through the gears without any problem. The 4 wheel drive engages and disengages properly. The brakes work but I'm sure they should be gone through considering the amount of down time on the rig. Both the front and rear heaters work great. All the gauges are working. It is missing one of the wiper arms but the wipers do work. All the emission control parts are still in place except for the smog pump. Everything was just greased up on the undercarriage. The body is in good shape as seen in the pictures. There is a couple of rust issues. The lower front fenders where they typically have rust is bubbling on the drivers side and a small amount of rust through on the passenger side. The rear tail gate is in good shape except for one small rust through spot shown. The rockers are solid. The roof has all surface rust with no rust through and the drip rails are solid. The floor boards have heavy surface rust with a couple small pin holes on the drivers side. There is a few small dings here and there but over all it is very straight. The interior is all there except for the head liner. The rear window is still operational and goes up and down as it should. The rear tail gate panel is there, just not shown in the pictures. The windshield will need replaced due to cracking. The door panels are in fairly good condition except for the drivers door which could use a little help. The drivers side rear door currently doesn't open. Haven't had time to address that. It has a clear Washington state title and currently is not licensed. Over all this is an excellent FJ55 to begin a restoration or with a little more love would be a great reliable driver. You can't go to the gas station without grabbing the attention of people around you in this old guy! This is a no-reserve auction so bid to win this gem and good luck! On Sep-04-14 at 21:45:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that the rear window is currently removed from the rear door. We removed it to access the window motor and did not put it back in place because the weather stripping around it is missing and the glass would most likely rattle quite a bit without the rubber in place. The new owner will want to replace the weather stripping before installing the window.
