Vehicle Detail

This 1979 CB750 dual overhead cam four Limited 10th Anniversary Edition has been garaged all of its life, and except for some oxidation on the aluminum engine cases it looks like new. The mileage is very low - only 10,619 as of August 30. It may have a few more miles on it by the time this auction ends but the final mileage will be 10,650 or less. The finishes are all Honda factory original. Nothing has been repainted, touched up, or replated. The exhaust system is correct and original and in near-perfect condition, which is extremely rare for any Honda 750 Four. There are no dings, dents or cracks in the tank, sidecovers or fenders. The seat has no tears or other issues and is still soft and extremely comfortable. I've owned this rare classic for many years but stopped riding motorcycles in 2004. Since then it has been stored in my garage (which is attached to the house) and has been started every year or so to keep all the seals in good order. The tank interior is clean and free of any rust. The bike is factory-stock with the exception of a roll bar with foot rests which has been on the bike since new. It is a high quality item made to fit this Honda model and is in near-new condition. I just put a new battery in it and started it in preparation for sale, and discovered one of the carburetors is dripping through the overflow (2nd carb in from right side). The bike starts easily and runs cleanly as (illustrated in the video below, taken August 29) however it will require that the carburetors are cleaned and adjusted in order to run properly. This bike has been a strong, fast runner for me and it still runs without any smoke or discoloration in the exhaust, indicating the rings and valves are still in superb condition. At 10K miles this DOHC 750 is really just broken in. The tachometer, speedometer, odometer, lights, signals, horn, instruments, clutch, and transmission are in fully working order. The rear brake works as new. The front brake has full stopping power however the caliper is a little sticky. This may clear up with riding or the cylinder may need to be cleaned or rebuilt. It is not an issue when riding but can be a nuisance when moving the bike around by hand in the garage. The front tire is a Bridgestone Spitfire 100/90-19 57H and the rear is a Bridgestone Spitfire 130/90-17 68H. Both are in very good condition with plenty of tread and no dry rot or cracking. This is the actual bike pictured on the cover of the Clymer Honda CB750 DOHC Fours 1979-1982, as illustrated in one of the listing photos. I took the photo which is credited to my name in the manual. I've uploaded many high resolution photos illustrating the outstanding condition of this vintage Honda. I'm selling this vehicle as described and illustrated. Please look closely at the pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding. This auction includes the motorcycle along with the original Honda owner's manual, 2 keys, the original tool kit, and the Clymer manual as pictured. All loose items must be picked up with the motorcycle or the buyer must cover actual cost of shipping/postage. I'm a private individual, not a dealer. I have a clear Pennsylvania title in my name. The vehicle is being sold as described and illustrated but as-is, where-is with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. The bike is available for inspection by seriously interested bidders by appointment - please contact me through the eBay message system. The motorcycle must be picked up at my residence in PA zip 19350 approximately 1 hour from Philadelphia, 2 hours from New York or Washington DC. I will not ship or crate this motorcycle. I prefer pickup by the buyer but will work with the buyer's bonded shipper to arrange a mutually convenient pickup. The bike must be picked up within 3 weeks of auction closing date. Here's a chance to own a classic Honda DOHC 750 in rare original condition. It turns heads whenever it's out in public. I'm also selling my only other motorcycle - a 1977 Honda 750A Hondamatic, also in nearly-new original condition, which is shown along with the Limited in one of the photos. I'll be listing the 1977 later today in a separate auction.
