1940 Buick 50 series Super Eight NO RESERVE, selling to highest bidder. This is a car you can buy and do little to and enjoy it like one with $50,000 in. Drive it around town or to a cruise in. My neighbor (who is a plumber) told me about this car. Said it was his fathers and he passed away last year and asked if I would be interested in selling it. His mother just wanted it out of the driveway. His father drove it around town and enjoyed this car for the last 10 plus years and it as is in original condition. I charged the battery and poured fresh gas in tank and it fired right up in a matter of 3 seconds-yes, i had to use the gas pedal to start it…AMAZING-it was a first for me! I drove it right down the road with no troubles whatsoever and shifting the 3 on the tree was a blast. When his father purchased this car over 10 years ago it had a newer paint job and since the car has been outside most of those 10 years, but it was driven from time to time and taken care of. The underneath is solid, The bottom of trunk inside has some surface rust but is very solid. I am not sure if there was any body work when it was painted but from what I see under the fenders it all looks original. There is a couple minor rust bubble spots in the paint down low on the piece under doors. There is some minor rust under back passenger side window too. The top of car paint is faded. There is a small piece of chrome down low on passenger side that is inside the glove box and needs put back somehow. There are knobs in glove box too. The lights all work. Brakes work good, Emergency brake works good, There is a button taped on steering column which is a horn-it works, Tires were newer and tread is thick but the tires have been sitting and aren't new anymore but they hold air and drive fine. The interior is old and smells original, there is one small worn place on drivers side (pictured). The engine seriously purrs like a kitten. The underneath is very solid, frame is solid. the glass is all great except passenger side window has small crack in lower right corner. This car could be enjoyed as is and fix minor things here or there…or you could put money in it and make it WHATEVER you want. I kind of like the car myself but have a new baby and my wife would kill me if I kept it. If you have any questions call me 812-290-4196.
