Vehicle Detail

This is my child and it kills me to get rid of it but its time for some consolidation of projects so my loss is your gain. (I'll just have to do another one in the future) Background and what has been done: The Hearse was purchased almost a decade ago from a northern state. I went back and forth with the owner through email and after seeing just about every angle possible though images I decided to pull the trigger and have it shipped to me. Once received I put a battery in it and to my delight all the electronic components worked. The engine turned over but wouldn't fire. I disconnected the fuel pump from the tank and hooked it to an IV drip and it started right up and ran great. I left it alone and drove it for a while as (awaiting its time in the spotlight) is till one of the transmission lines blew out. I repaired it and replaced the several quarts of lost fluid. Unfortunately the new fluid and detergents broke loose the friction plates and they started slipping (not uncommon with old automatic transmissions). So at that point I let it sit while I decided what I wanted to do with it. I ended up pulling the motor and trans and stripping them down to bare housing and performing full over hauls on both. As well the engine bay was cleaned up and many other parts were replaced at the same time as proactive maintenance. Almost all engine parts came from MTS (they are a Cadillac big block specialty company) and almost all transmission parts are upgraded Red Eagle parts. This auction will include the vehicle in its entirety and any other parts I have for it. The Pros: Full engine overhaul ~New bearings ~New upgraded chain and sprocket timing assembly ~All new Felpro gaskets ~New fuel pump ~New water pump ~New piston rings ~New hydraulic lifters ~Head exhaust ports Gasket matched ~Oiling modifications (to promote better oiling in known issue areas) per MTS’ “Big Inch Cadillac” book ~New thermostat ~New spark plugs Full transmission overhaul ~New gaskets, seals and o-rings ~Valve body completely overhauled ~Upgraded Red Eagle friction and steel plates ~Upgraded Red Eagle bands ~New adjustable vacuum governor Added large trans-cooler in line with stock cooler Carburetor rebuilt Upgraded air cleaner (still have stock one also) New fuel pump to carb hard line with upgraded inline filter New motor mounts New transmission mount Upgraded distributer to the 500ci HEI unit Upgraded 8mm custom built plug wires to accommodate HEI swap New radiator New radiator hoses Engine bay cleaned and painted New front brake rubber lines. New rear brake rubber line. New Master cylinder (new booster included but not installed, old one does work) New brake fluid New front wheel bearings and seals Year correct hub caps were also purchased and installed (Not shown in main picture) Old H9001 and H9004 headlight were removed and Round housing that will accept a modern H4 bulb were custom fitted (this was for the use of brighter bulbs as well as being able to convert it to HID in the future / can put low beam and high beam HIDs in the desired intensity in it for $150 additional + time to get in the units) I know there were other things done that I can’t remember but all new stuff has less than 500 miles on it. Negative: Front windshield has a crack but it is still solid and intact ~they are available and a local shop quoted me a fair price for glass and install just never got to it Rear windshield busted but is still in ~this was a recent incident. One of the kids from down the road was shooting a CO2 powered BB gun and accidently hit it. Patina paint ~I don’t see this as a negative and people pay good money to try and replicate this authentic patina. I personally wanted to just clear over it to protect the metal but preserve the look but I know the look isn’t for everyone so im willing to put it as a negative. Drivers floor board is rusted through ~I have driven it this way plenty of times but it does need to be done. From what I can and have seen the rest of the vehicle appears to be solid. Some minor interior issues but all in all the interior is in pretty good shape. All in all the vehicle is in really good condition especially for a 44 year old northern vehicle. It is definitely and attention getter and conversation starter and it rides just like you would expect a Cadillac to. I have well over what I’m asking just in the work that has been done not to mention the price of the vehicle itself. I should have most of if not all of the receipts for parts that I will also send with the vehicle. Again, this has been my child. While projects have come and gone this is the one I have always refused to get rid of but alas, at the end of the year I will be coming into a new living situation that cannot accommodate a 24’ land yacht. If you would like any additional information or pictures please PM. Also if any additional work or modifications are desired on it, I can do so before delivery for additional cost (on top of selling price). The front hub caps are pictured inside and will be put back on. They were removed for doing the hub bearing. Dash is not cracked it is just a shadow from the crack in the windshield.  Pardon the mess in the back. Itll be cleaned out before delivery.
