Relisting due to winning bidder not being a US bidder. Sorry for the inconvenience...lets try this again! Here is a very clean 1983 VW Westfalia full camper that was in CA for most of its life and spent the last 8 years or so in NH but never saw any salt, so it is very clean with just a few very minor surface rust spots that are easily cleaned up. Tires are in good shape and only have about 6,000 miles on them. Have all the curtains and rear hatch screen. Engine is original, and doesn't seem to use oil. Replaced windshield - June 2006. New hemp top canvas for it, 3 window version, replaced in June 2006. New struts for the rear door in June 2006. Replaced starter 2007. Replaced water pump and thermostat May 2011. New screens for sliding side windows. Replaced seal on the camper top and luggage carrier last year. NEVER driven on salt covered roads and the van came from CA in 2006. Stored for the winters. The original jack is under the rear seat, the full size spare is under the front of the van. The fridge and sink work (used hookups) but haven't used in 3 years. Keys work in driver's door and rear door, may be able to lube the others and get them working eventually. No radio. The dash clock doesn't work. If you let it sit for too long (usually run it every 2 weeks somewhere, have gone up to 4 weeks without running it) the battery dies, so somewhere there is a very slow drain/short causing this. When its run once every 2 weeks, I haven't had to worry. Previous owner indicated: Has an antifreeze leak somewhere, not a BIG leak, but I am in the habit of carrying a gallon of premix (50/50) and check the reservoir every time I go out. Sometimes it needs some, sometimes it doesn't. Has a tendency to overheat if stuck in one spot idling for over 10 minutes....Thinking maybe the electric fan is not coming on...that could be the culprit. I have not experienced either of these issues since I have not had this very long. Also, just to clarify, the van is located just south of Rochester, NY. The Washington license plate that is on the van is just to appease the town...they don't like unregistered vehicles on properties. The hub caps and the tailpipe are new. This is a 31 year old van, so expect some normal dings and quirky VW issues. The 110V plug outlet is not hooked up and will need to be re-connected with the circuit breaker. Some of the original interior tack paper is wrinkled and/or torn. Very solid, original van in great shape! Please e-mail with any questions or if you would like to see any other pictures, close ups etc. I have a clear, open CA title in hand. Thanks for looking! Thank you!
