1915 Saxon Model A - Type 5 Car is all original and body and frame are in wonderful condition. We have had the vehicle inspected by those that know these things and they say she's all original, no modifications. The passenger side running board does have some surface rust, front passenger fender has a crease across it and there is some minor cracking in the 100 year old paint, but nothing bad. The interior is perfect with no rips or tears in the 100 year old leather. Vehicle has all of the original canvases, as well as the bag to store them in. The wrench for the whole vehicle is also there and the plunger for the horn. Dashboard and floors are not cracked and in wonderful shape. Wood wheels are not scarred or banged up, and the Firestone 18x3 tires are in wonderful condition with NO SKID very visible on the tread. There are tubes in the tires. The doors open quietly, the seat is still comfy and the windshield not cracked. The manual windshield wiper works!! She is outfitted with the original Continental 4 cylinder motor. The lime green motor looks good but does not run. Sitting in a barn for 40 years locked it up. We do have it freed up but not enough to crank it over. This year of Saxon was the first to be outfitted with both electric and gas lights. She also has a spotlight and an added brake-light. The spare tire mounted on the drivers side was added later also. Overall this is a wonderful vehicle - shows the true craftsmanship that went in to making vehicles 100 years ago. This vehicle is very rare - the Saxon Registry only knows of roughly 150 vehicles that remain today out of the roughly 100,000 that were built. I know most classic car listings say RARE RARE RARE - but this one truly is. The Saxon Registry can only account for about 150 vehicles - she is one of them!!! The Model A - 5 has the B body (curved doors and gas tank through the dash) but is still an A Model. It's rare to see a Saxon at any car show and this one is a true gem. We found this Saxon sitting in a barn - where she had sat for 35-40 years!!! She is a true barn find. The gentleman we purchased her from said his dad was her third owner - so this car has only had 4 owners in 100 years. Couple things I forgot about. One of the bars holding the canopy is crimped in the middle. It doesn't affect the raising/lowering of the canopy and can easily be fixed. The canvas over the driver's door has a fray in it. You have to crane your neck in an odd position to see it. To the best of my knowledge, the motor is complete, just tied up. I know Continental has a program where you can send the motor to them and they will refurbish and send back. I can't say enough wonderful things about this car. Everyone who has seen it has been amazed by the condition. It's not perfect, but I hope I look this good at 99 1/2!! lol
