Vehicle Detail
0 0 1 361 2058 Westlake Financial Group, Inc. 17 4 2415 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE You are bidding on a very nice 1966 Mercedes Benz 230SL. She is a very rare color, schwartz (Black) with a white interior. In person - stunning. You don't see many 113 SL series cars in Black. She enjoyed a very nice restoration several years ago. It still presents very nicely. The paint is in excellent condition minus a few minor chips (nothing serious), and the convertible top appears to be in new condition. The hardtop is also in excellent restored condition - even the inside - and appears as though it hasn't been on the car since restoration. She is a four speed manual transmission, but the clutch feels brand new - and the shifter has new bushings, no doubt. She has had no accidents that we can see, the leading edges on the fenders are untouched and undamaged. The chrome and stainless is in excellent condition, as are the tires (recent). The alloy rims pictured are not standard for a 1966 230SL, however, but we do have an original set of steel wheels that we are painting to match the exterior. The buyer can have either set of rims. If both are wanted, we can discuss. The interior, though restored, is showing signs of slight wear. The wood on the interior (surrounding the windshield and the speaker grill) were, for some reason, painted black to match the car. It is, of course, not original. The carpet still looks new and the car presents very well. There is an aftermarket radio in the dashboard also. Please review the pictures. The 230SL, has a 2.3 liter fuel injected six cylinder engine. Although it is smaller in size than the 250 and 280, the car is also lighter. Many collectors believe that the 230SL is a more lively car to drive and I agree. They are very dependable and very fun. She drives down the road straight with no issues at all and brakes very well. Always starts on the first turn of the key, The exhaust is quiet and is a pleasure to own. Rust can be an issue on these cars. Our car has no signs of rust now or in the past. There appears to be no previous rust repair nor accident damage of any kind. The trunk is rust free, as you can see in the pictures. This is one of the best 230SL's on the market today - and is extremely straight. Of course, she is old - therefore no warranty is implied or expressed. I encourage inspections and will happily schedule one with your service (or yourself). We also have a lift and the underside of the car can be inspected on site. She will be sold as-is with a clear title. This car can win shows - probably not Pebble Beach yet, but at a local car shows. She is no trailer queen but the value of all 113 series cars is escalating quickly and is a blue chip investment. NADA prices these cars at $37,730 retail and $70, 290 in excellent condition. I've put a reasonable reserve on the car that is well below "excellent", knowing that a few minor corrections need to be made to her. I'm happy to provide additional pictures upon request and answer any/all emails as promptly as time permits. Thank you for looking. On Aug-26-14 at 08:00:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I've neglected to mention that this car just completed a mechanical refresh which cost $5000. I have the receipt for the work and it will, of course, go to the new owner. Mechanically this car is 100%.
