Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an "as-is" black on black 1977 Porsche 911s with matching numbers. I am the 3rd owner and it has been garaged in non-op status since 1992. It is a California car with no rust. The car has new tires, new paint with bad orange peel around the sunroof, new headliner, updated chain tensioners, newly painted rims, new rear suspension bushing kit (not yet installed), a rebuilt smog pump (installed) and thermal reactors are supplied (the car has headers now). On May 23, 2014 the engine oil and filter were changed and the sump pump screen was removed and cleaned. The car was then fired up for the first time in 22 years. If you would like to see a video of the car running on that day, contact me and I will email you the video. The car seems to have some oil seepage which results in blue smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. Not sure if this is caused by leaky valve guides. Porsche recommends that valve guides be changed at 60k miles and this was never done. Three weeks later, the car was fired up again and driven. The brake pedal is stiff so the brake system should be looked at as well. I also have a video the of the car being driven. The car has 105,467 miles on it. This is a project car that, even though it has a rebuilt smog pump and supplied thermal reactors, it will not pass smog without some additional engine work. It has no battery, no rear seats (my plan was to install a roll bar so I removed and discarded them), and no carpets. This car needs to go to someone that has the time and resources to restore it and sort out any issues. According to California DMV the buyer will need to sign an as-is bill of sale to acknowledge the non-op status and that doing the necessary repairs for it to pass smog will be the buyers responsibility. The car comes with factory manuals and some miscellaneous Porsche tools. I put this car up for auction on 5/26/14 and without ever seeing the car, the winning bidder did not follow through with the deposit or purchase. The reason I did not post it again right away is because of business commitments and our daughter getting married.
