Vehicle Detail

I just bought this car at a police impound auction. I will have the title in hand by August 23. I jump started it and drove it home, but it is not a daily driver yet. What it is, however, is an excellent starting point for a project, or can become a daily driver without too much work. The biggest issue is a rod knock and water coming from the front of the engine. Again, I drove it about 30 miles home, but I wouldn't attempt to drive it to California. The transmission, steering, and brakes all work as expected. The manual windows both work. The suspension is a bit spongy. I assume it needs shocks. It has all four factory rally wheels with the beauty rings and trim pieces around the holes. The body is in great shape for a 36 year old car. There is one rust spot along the left rear passenger window. There are a couple surface rust spots on the hood. Other than that, there are various bumps and dings on the body. The front and rear bumper covers should be replaced, and the top of the grille surround needs to be fixed with fiberglass. The floorboards and trunk are all solid as the day they were new. The front seat needs recovered and the carpet is dirty. I currently have the drivers door upholstery removed to get to the latch mechanism. I didn't buy this car to keep. I want to keep it from going to the crusher - it's condition is too good to not be put back on the street or dragstrip. I think it would be a tremendous first car project. Either drop in an engine from Pull-A-Part and drive it, or strip it down to bare metal and build your dream car. I have attached pictures, and can take more. Just let me know what you want to see. The only thing I would consider trading for would be a tandem axle car trailer. Other than that, cash only. $500 down payment required via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end. It must be removed within 14 days of the auction end. After that you will be charged $10/day. After 30 days you will forfeit your down payment and the car will be re-listed. Again, I didn't buy this car to keep it. I bought it to get it into the hands of someone that will appreciate it and get it back on the road. If any of this is a problem, contact me BEFORE BIDDING and we can work something out. Just ask. Thanks for looking, and remember, bid early and bid often!!
