Up for sale by private owner is this award winning numbers matching consistent first place car show holder 1970 Mach I Mustang 428 Cobra Jet R Code Ram Air Mustang with Shaker Hood Scoop and rare color combination of original Ford Factory color combination of Calypso Coral exterior with stunning factory Vermillion Red Interior. This car was manufactured at the Dearborn assembly plant on October 23, 1969. Originally purchased from Jerry Hays Ford in Independence Missouri by the original owner, the car moved through several documented owners but stayed completely original. This Cobra Jet Mustang under went a restoration in 1995 (see photos on classiccars.com item # 568771). The car was acquired in 2002 as a numbers matching all original car including original drive train, original comfort weave interior, shaker hood scoop and all rare original parts such a Rev Limiter, radiator, door panels, rim blow wood steering wheel, shaker hood scoop, heat riser, rear spoiler, console original short throw Hurst shifter, original ford “428 Cobra Jet” valve covers and extremely rare original Ford composite fan shroud. The engine was professionally rebuilt, the original carburetor was sent out and professionally restored as was the transmission and 9” posi differential. In 1996, the car was entered into an MCA sponsored car show and was MCA Gold judged in the stock classification. In their 12 page extensive 700 point judging form the car received a documented 687 points out of a possible 700 points. During the period of time I have owned the car I have meticulously and lovingly maintained the car in show room condition. The paint on the car is exact match to the cars original factory Ford Calypso Coral with clear coat. The paint on the car is immaculate with no dings, chips, scratches, variations, swirls etc. The pictures don't do the paint job justice. The paint is in show room condition!! The car has all factory decals, inspection stickers, paint markings and I even was able to obtain the original factory copy of the window sticker from Lois Eminger who, in the early 1990’s was able to acquire thousands of Ford factory window sticker copies for many Mustangs produced in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. A color copy of this window sticker invoice is proudly displayed on the passengers side window of the car. I have showed this car annually at local car shows and continued to maintain its meticulous condition. The interior fiberglass rear quarter panels, interior door panels have been confirmed Ford original with part numbers and Ford logo. All sheet metal except the right rear quarter panel is also original and is all engine compartment components and the drive train. I am in telephone and email contact with two previous owners of the car that did work on the car and can attest to it's originality. They are available to potential buyers upon request. Some of the more recent things I have done to the include: Complete professional restoration of alternator including factory correct bronzed pulley and fan, all correct coloring and markings.Installation of concourse correct ford logo and part number stamped exhaust clamps and hangers.Installation (annually) of concourse correct factory marked and part number labels radiator and heater hoses and fan belts.Auto Lite concourse correct rubber case honeycomb battery with modern internal dry cell technology to prevent acid vapor hood and fire wall corrosion.Professionally restoreded power steering pump including all date correct Parts and factory correct paints.Fully professionally rebuilt by Kevin’s Classics of Hayward California power steering valve to include all original parts, colors and date stamps.Blue Dot Concourse corrects power steering cylinder to valve hoses including correct yellow strip on hoses, ford logo and correct ford part numbers (see photos).Full engine compartment decals, inspection stickers, paint markings and yellow valve cover “OK” stamp.
