1990 Pontiac Grand Am SE with W41 engine, and POSI transmissionChassis: 96k milesDrive train: less than 500miles.Purchased this car from my grandmother a few years ago with a blown head gasket and the tranny was slipping. So, I bought a brand new crate W41 Quad 4 2.3L engine, and a rebuilt automatic transmission with posi. A little history about the W41. GM offered 3 different versions of the Quad 4. The standard Quad 4(160hp) and the High Output Quad 4(180hp) were offered in the Grand Am and a few other GM models. The W41 was the highest powered Quad 4(190hp) version and was offered only in the 1991 Oldsmobile Calais Quad 442 and the 1992-1993 Oldsmobile Achieva SCX. This car is currently running on a "vin. d"(160hp) ecu, so it drives like a stock SE grand am with a little extra pep. Starts, runs, drives, stops fine. Has flip up sunroof, all the dash gauges work, and it appears all interior electrical components work. A/C blows cold and heater works great too. Installed new oem style quad tip exhaust, battery, starter, fuel pump/filter, belts, plugs, and many other small parts.Some issues:-Base Coat of red paint is fine but has some clear coat peel on the roof and a couple small areas of the car.-Interior is clean but headliner needs replaced. (Got a quote for $120 from a local shop but never had the time to do it.)-Very clean body for the age!! But has a bubbling spot on the rear part of the passenger side rocker. No other rust on car!!-Exhaust is new, but may need some re-alignment, sometimes has a rattle at idle. (something I haven't had the time to adjust)- Driver window goes up slowly (original window motor needs replaced and are inexpensive)Comes with extra red rims, and a red rear SE bumper if you want them.Maybe not be the most desired car but these are very hard to find in this condition with this drive train installed. Runs good, around 30mpg, posi makes it good in the snow...would love to keep it and make it nicer. But I do not have the time and I don't want to see it sit. Need the money for college tuition.The drive train alone would cost $3500 new. My reserve is much less...
