Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very rare and nice 1962 Chevrolet Impala Convertible with V8 engine. The car was recently discovered and purchased at a local Estate Sale where it was kept indoors by previous owner since 1981. Under the dust, you will find a very solid car with the factory original color "Ermine White" with White Convertible ragtop (double-click on photos to enlarge them and you will notice it will not be hard to get this car to show-ready condition). It has the peppy 283 V8 engine (170hp) with two barrel carburetor, generator and dual exhaust. The car fires right up and car drives out well. Additionally, it has the two speed Powerglide automatic transmission with column shift. On the inside, the seats, dash, and original steering wheel are well preserved and are in good condition. Car instrumentation includes 120mph speedometer, electric clock, fuel, temp gauges and even the factory original factory AM radio is still there! Also, note the original red reflector mounted in doors and the rear mount speaker in rear seat area. Included with sale are the original fender skirts and wheel covers. Glass is in good condition there is a small chip in the windshield. The convertible top is in amazing condition and the rear window is in very good condition. This car has period correct mild custom features such as dark blue diamond tuck interior, trunk lining, iconic fuzzy dice and parade boot. Again, this car being as solid as it is can be easily brought back to its original factory condition. On the outside, the body is very solid and straight; the car has been repainted several years back in its original factory color Ermine White. The tires (P205 75Rx14) appear new and the tinted glass and stainless trim is there and can be easily restored. This car still retains it's original cowl data plate and the original VIN plate is securely fastened to the driver side door jam. The cowl tag and VIN have both been decoded to reveal this is a true V8 Convertible in its original color Ermine White. A bit of history... Chevrolet celebrated it's 50th Anniversary in '62 by celebrating with building a few Impala Super Sport (SS) models painted Gold. Today, those "Gold" Impalas are in high demand amongst collectors everywhere! In the early '60's era, the Chevrolet Impala was the highest priced Mid-size car Chevrolet built and it was also the best selling. Impala's were first produced in 1958 and went on to compete with the Ford Galaxie 500 and the Plymouth Fury. Impala sales far surpassed their competitors. This car with it's diamond tuck, is a diamond in the rough, with the proper wheel covers and badges placed back on car (and perhaps the diamond tuck tucked away..) it will look fantastic. Don't let this one get away! This is a VERY collectible classic car that runs and drives good and is a real blast to drive with the top down! Please note the seller reserves the right to end auction early if car sells locally. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. With only a little effort, this 1962 Chevrolet Impala Convertible has a ton of potential to be extremely nice, take a good look at the pics and bid with confidence.
