Vehicle Detail
So I started out looking for a new road bike project. And I found this XL250. It had been left sitting in a garage for something in excess of 2 years. Couldn't pass up the chance to bring this one back to life. Here's what I've done: - cleaned the fuel tank and carb - sanded and painted the skid plate and exhaust pipe - installed new tires - replaced points and condenser and set timing - adjusted the points advance mechanism - replaced spark plug - new fuel petcock - new float needle and seat, adjusted the float level - new grips - new brake and clutch levers - new tail light - new battery - new fuel line and filter - new chain and sprockets - new fork seals - mirror - new foam air filter material (used bulk UNI foam as OEM foam is not available) It has been Missouri state safety inspected and I have it titled in my name and licensed. Everything works - lights, signals, horn, kill switch, etc. It's a good driver. I'm enjoying riding it so the mileage will go up, albeit not significantly. Video of bike running: http://youtu.be/IAtvpwjNgbY That's all the good. Now for the items needing some attention: - a little slow returning to idle at times - other than cleaning it up, it's the way I found it with nicks and fading in the paint, light dents in the tank, scratches here and there, some light rust and a tear in the seat - exhaust - it has the factory pipe which is solid except one spot that has rusted through. I've installed a temporary patch (aluminum plate and ultra copper seal) works but it would be best to have a steel plate welded in as a permanent repair - the plastic chain guard has a hole in it likely caused by the hole in the exhaust. The pictures should tell the story. A $200 non-refundable deposit is due via PayPal by the winning bidder. The balance must be paid within 7 days by cashiers check or postal money order. I am not responsible for shipping nor will I crate the motorcycle but I will be happy to work with your shipper of choice. I'm willing to store the bike for up to 30 days following payment in full. I would recommend buyer call me at auction close and work out all the details. I make no warranties on the motorcycle. You are buying this as is with no refunds or returns. I've tried to point out the good and bad honestly. Selling this one so I can move on to my road bike project. If you have questions, please send them thru ebay or call me at 314-472-5789.
