Vehicle Detail
I am selling one extremely clean and very low hour 1985 Honda ATC250r. This bike has super low hours and is all original (meaning not restored or re-done). I working on thinning the collection, so a few bikes are up for sale. Check my other listings as well, as I will be listing a really nice '85 Kawasaki Tecate as well as another 350x or two and a Yamaha 225dx, if and when I get around to it. This bike is completely 100% OEM stock bike, just as it came from the local Honda dealer back in 1985. I believe every part on this bike is OEM stock. This bike is suitable for a collector (or a rider), but I honestly would hate to see it ridden outside of just cruising around, as the tires and plastic are just too nice to be used. For its age and use, this is a very tidy and complete machine, and with no cheesy aftermarket compromises. Specifics and details:The OEM plastic is very, very nice. There are some small normal scuff marks on the fenders, but it still shines and has a pop to it. I have a set of replacement black fender "number plate" decals if buyer wants them. These are the ones on the top of the fendersThe front fender and front headlight look almost brand new, I think their condition is mint. The tires are near perfect. Knobs are still square and look great. Front Dunlop tire is at about 95% wearRear Dunlop tires are about 95% wear(the 1985 came OEM with Dunlop rubber, while the 86 came with Ohtsu, but the tires are near identical in tread)No annoying shiny stuff used on the tires to overshine them.Includes the original condition OEM tool kit.Frame has NO boot wear marks. There are some light scuffs and minor flaking around some welds, but thats about. No wear from Boots though.Expansion chamber is clean and dent free. Includes period correct front master cylinder guard (that is the only non stock item on the bike)The Bottom of the bike (skid plates) look mint and have had any hard hits. See pics.Starts, idles and runs very well. Bike starts first or second kick with ease. No shiny oily stuff used on the plastic. I hate that crap and do not use it. This bike is not an over-shined junker polished up to look good for pics. This bike is very nice, and very clean. I would rate it at a 9.2 out of 10. It is in rare un-restored condition. The red portion of the Kill switch is sightly faded (just the red tab on the switch), but its not really noticeable. Seat is still soft and plush like new.The only real issue I could point out is that there is some paint flaking on the lower cases on the clutch side. See pics. This is really the only issue that I can note, and its not that bad. And because it is on on the bottom part of the motor, it is barley noticeable, unless you are looking for it. Forks have some minor clear coat flaking on the lower fork legs, but again, its nothing major. There are some TINY little pits on the top portion of the forks by the headlight, but they are not noticeable unless they are pointed out. Seals are still tight and show no signs of ever leaking. For an extra $225 I would throw in a pair NOS Honda 250r forks and NOS Fork Boots if you want themOverall this is a super nice unrestored unmolested bike with a few very tiny knicks, but nothing major. This bike is close to or at museum quality, but it has been ridden.I do reserve to end the listing early if a local / national buyers steps forward...Clean California title is in hand Sold strictly as is, so please look closely at photos and feel free to ask any questions. If you live in Southern California I can transport this down to you for $125 gas fee. If you are an international buyer, please see below for more details, but I can work with you. The boring stuff (but please read):Shipping: I suggest you use Daily Direct for transport. Their phone number is 888-haulbikes, and they are professionals with a strong track record of moving expensive and nice motorcycles. I also have some other shipping options as well, and some that are much cheaper than you might think, so hit me up with any questions, but Daily Direct is very good, and offers door to door roll on and roll off service. I can and will ship international, but the buyer must coordinate this, as the process can be cumbersome. I will assist as best as possible and do have really good access to shippers to the UK, Europe and Australia. I can also ship to the middle east as well. But please note that all paperwork will be handled by the buyer. I dont do paperwork very well. Seller Notes: If you are a serious buyer, it is available to be shown, but I am not looking for tire kickers or time wasters. The bike is located in Northern California. Payment: A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of closing, or a friendly phone call or clear email on who you are and how you intend to close the deal. I am very easy to work with, but a little clear communication goes a long way with me. Paypal is fine for deposit, but the fee and commission they take is very high. Cash is preferred, but we will take payment however is easiest for you for to send, as we understand that some buyers might be out of the country. Cash, wire transfer, bank check, Paypal, WU, Carrier Pidgin - whatever - but as long as it clears our bank and you are not playing the Nigerian lottery with me, I could care less how it comes. If you are a serious buyer and have the money in hand, I am happy to talk to you on the phone about whatever questions or interest you have in the bikes. But please, no time wasters or tire kickers. The bikes are for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time if a local buyer comes forward. In case you are wondering anything about me as a seller, I have been on eBay since 1998 (thats 15 years) and have not one negative feedback. I am just a nut for older dirt bikes and ATV's from the 1980's. I have a nice collection of bikes that I have built up over 15 years of collecting. I have several others that I am selling, including several 85 - 86 250r's and 350x's, as well as a few quads. See my other listings for some more of my stuff, but I doubt I will get around to listing all of them. I also have a matching 1985 350x that is in similiar to slightly better shape which I will try to list in the next few days.
