This is a 1960 MGA roadster project. It is obviously in rough condition but it's an honest car with no surprises, as a previous owner took a lot of trouble to strip most of the paint off and unbolt all the body parts so we can have a good peek inside the kimono. The car does not appear to have any major accident damage, although it's rusty, as the pictures show. The frame needs repair panels along its inside edge; these are available as a kit to weld in. It is straight and does not seem to be buckled or broken. The body needs typical northeastern car repairs, inner sills, some minor work around fender flanges, fender bottom patches, etc. Again, all of these parts are available as patch panels, preformed and not very expensive, to weld on. Mechanically, we assume the car needs a complete overhaul, but it's pretty much complete, with front disc brakes. Suspension is complete and intact and the car steers fine. The engine is not correct; it's a 1500 from an early 15GB MGA. It could be bored out to 1600 size by a good machine shop, or we can probably find a correct 1600 cc engine if the buyer prefers. The head is the correct one and the engine turns freely by hand. Seats have been recovered in black vinyl as some time in the past and are usable as-is. Windshield frame is complete but needs glass. Instruments and switches are all present and rebuildable (some can be used as they are). We are a supplier of parts for older British cars, and can provide you with any part you want for this one. The buyer will get a significant discount off the Moss Motors list prices, and we do have an extensive stock of good used MGA parts as well. The car will be sold with a Maine bill of sale, which should allow you to get a title in your own state, as Maine does not require titles on older vehicles. As to the price, we are in the MG parts business. This car has about $5,000 worth of parts at today's market prices (examples: engine, $750, rear end, $300, seats, $300, dash, gauges and instruments, $400, and so on). We will not destroy it for parts, but hope to find a new owner who will restore this old MG. It was originally red, by the way. Call me if you have any questions about the car.
