Vehicle Detail

I am re-listing this car for a friend as they don't have an Ebay account, but as the owner of a vintage motorcycle shop and having had scores of classic cars, I can safely say this is a very tight, clean car that really feels like it has only done the measly 13,274 miles the odometer shows (believed to be correct, as the title had a milage of 12229 recorded when he purchased the vehicle). The first time this was listed there was an issue with the title, but that is all sorted out now and this car comes with a clear blue Texas title in the current owners name. The engine is a HiPo 289 V8, 271 HP, 10.5:1, solid lifters and a Holley 4 bbl instead of the original Autolite. We believe it's an original warranty engine (as many were due to a severe case of lead-foot from original owners) as the engine number does NOT match the VIN (Starts with C5AE-6015-E, but the rest is hidden behind the starter motor and I don't have access to a lift right now). But as I say, it's believed to be a correct warranty engine that was changed back when it was new. Everything else is believed to be correct apart from the carb, steering wheel and a Hurst shifter. The gearbox has HEH-BT-010063 stamped on the trans case. It also has C3AA-6394-C stamped on the bell housing. The cylinder heads have '20' cast on the corners. The interior is really fabulous apart from the drivers seat pan is starting to split along the seams. All the clocks work, including the one that tells the time and all chrome trim and the dash is in perfect shape. Some spares are included in the sale, including the original steering wheel... which could be repaired. The body is in really great shape with no visible rot (even the door bottoms are great), nice panel alignment and a good 10 footer paint job. The paint is decent (done 15-20 years ago), but does have a couple of flakes that have come off and shows a couple of retouches, but if you actually want to drive the car, it still looks good. New paint would really make this a show car. The one missing wheel center cap is in the ashtray in the car, it just needs to be stuck back on. The 2 spare wheels are also in great shape and one has a new tire. Comes with a car cover too. All exterior chrome is excellent, with only some very minor spots on the front bumper alone. Comes with a few small spare chrome parts too (pictured). It also has the GT grill fitted with fog lights. I drove this car home and it has gobs of power, shifts great, spins the wheels (sometimes when you don't want it to) and feels very tight. I would say that this car needs to be driven and tweaked so it's perfect, but it's 99% there already. It does have a slight pull to the right when braking hard too... so maybe alignment or just the fact that K-Codes' had drum brakes with no power booster. In fact, there is no power anything in this car as it was not an option. The engine bay is as it should be and the engine has had fresh oil (I checked). As mentioned, it has a Holley square bore with vacuum secondaries and a manual choke. Everything else is as it was when it was new... so no power anything or AC (AC never offered with the K-Code). It also has a new battery and the charging system works fine. Underside all looks good too, with minimal surface rust and no obvious repairs to the floors. The gas tank looks new as do the shocks. There is also a rear swaybar included if you would like to fit that too. That's about all I know of the car, but if you want a quick Mustang that looks and sounds the part with a pedigree... you could do a lot worse than this one. I will try to answer any questions and will also help with shipping, but if you have low feedback or want to buy this in another country, chances are you are a scammer and I will most likely ignore your bid. I do have more underside pics if anyone is really serious. Thanks all.
