Vehicle Detail
I have a 1972 Chevy C20 3/4 ton pickup truck for sale. 350 Chevy small block with a 4-speed manual transmission. 4 speed manual has a 'granny gear.' I typically start in second, and it doesn't like running much more than 60mph with the current gearing. Not sure of real mileage since the odometer doesn't work. I don't believe they're original, but it has good working disc brakes in the front! Truck brakes very well. I used it as a daily driver for the last two years, and although it's fun to drive around I will not lie and must say that many things do not work on it! Forest Green color - not a good paint job but it's what it is, cleans up alright with a bit of wax but it would be a joke to take it to a show! It has the hood emblem in black but that fell off at one point. It could do for a full restoration, or be used as-is to drive around in, as I have. The only gauges that work inside are the gas gauge, oil pressure and temperature (both located on a secondary gauge cluster). Both windows roll up and down but require a delicate touch (I prefer to hold onto the glass and assist the mechanism). No wipers, no high beams, no heater, no a/c, no radio, no horn. Lights work but can be temperamental - every now and then the wiring in the steering column can come loose, and lots of the wiring in the truck appears to be rather makeshift, but it typically all works alright! I replaced the power brake booster, rebuilt the carburetor (has disengaged secondary butterfly to help keep gas mileage decent, easy to change back to normal and would probably get a bit more oomph out of the engine), replaced a number of hoses, bled the brakes, changed the oil a couple of times, re-welded the rear mounts for the exhaust pipes which were broke, put a couple of new gaskets on the engine block/headers, painted sections of the bed black, painted the gauge cluster cover, painted the white Chevrolet on the back, added the custom-fit Mexican blanket seat cover (the original green vinyl is really good except one nice chunk right under the driver's butt, about 6" across). All around, it runs and drives alright and is legal on the streets of California. I would absolutely not drive it on a freeway! Priced reasonably for a project or as a good farm truck or the like. Sold as-is with no warranty expressed. This is a rough, old pickup truck! It's currently registered in California until September. Clean title. Buyer to arrange shipping. $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction's end, full payment within five days (if via Paypal, or I can work with cashier's check if buyer gives notice). Thanks for looking. I prefer email for communication because I have an old cell phone that is often off for battery charging. If you're interested in talking email me and I can give you my number. - Gregory
