This is a very nice original 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Hard Top/Soft Top Convertible Coupe. The 1985 500SL was not offered for sale by Mercedes in the U.S. but only for the European market. The car was imported to the U.S. after a necessary dealer installed smog pump which was added for the U.S. market. Some feel the 500SL with the 5.0 liter engine was more powerful than the 560SL introduced in 1986 for the U.S. market. It is owned by only the third owner who attests to its mileage, original paint and condition and that it runs and drives excellent. It is mostly all original except the bottom front seat material was replaced. The vehicle is located in northern Wisconsin and can be driven anywhere. Included with the car is a custom made vertical aluminum rack for storing the hard top when not in use. Vehicle can be picked-up at it's current owner's Baron, Wisconsin location and driven anywhere, or shipped at new owners expense.
