Up for auction is one of the most collectable vintage Japanese motorcycles. And, this is one of the finest examples you will find in the country. The 78 GS1000 was the fastest bike of the year. I have seen some with lower mileage, but they are "put togethers" and not all original. Make sure you look closely at other bikes for change of seat, exhaust, fork cover, cover by ignition, original paint and stickers, etc. The only one I have seen better and original went for about $5800 +. This is a Florida bike and is near perfect. I am a collector and lover of the old school bikes (my first bike was a 1980 GS1000E, actually traded my car for it) and this is by far the best one I have owned and ridden. I have put about 50 miles on it, given it a nice cleaning and confirmed its shape both esthetically and mechanically. Everything works as it should. The bike rides like new, brakes, gears, electrical all 100% and it runs great! The person I purchased it from had it for 8 years and it sat in climate controlled garage in FL. I am parting with the bike as I have my eyes on a Wes Cooley for sale locally. Check out the pics, see the videos, ask any questions.
