Vehicle Detail
Up for consideration is my 1964 pro street Ford Galaxie 500 fastback. To start with this was a very nice rust free former race car turned into a pro street. The car was involved in a accident, broke the back axle which turned me into aluminum lamp post at low speed. As you can see from the prior pictures this was a very good looking very fast car that won trophies at every car show it entered. Hectic work schedule does not permit me time to rebuild so my loss is your gain. Just 25 miles prior to the wreck I did a lot of work on the car which will be specified below. Since the wreck I put brand new Strange engineering axles in the rear end so I could move the car, a little over 500.00 and some change. The car is set up for 429- 460 family of engines, motor has a pending sale on it so at this time just the car is available. Some features are a very nice back half equipped with a heavy duty ford 9" rear end with brand new strange axles and brakes, powder coated, the sheet metal work is awesome, a back half of this quality would run about 6000.00 It features 4:10 gears with posi and a fully adjustable 4 link coil over suspension. The suspension has been tuned and car hooks hard and straight. It has Mickey Thompson big and littles with over 80 percent tread remaining. The rear tires are massive Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro, LT 33 x 19.50-15, Bias-Ply, Blackwall that are 14.5" wide on Weld star wheels. It has a full roll cage that is properly tied in, with hinge down kit for easy entrance. The interior has nice period correct adjustable seats with no tears and has brand new certified cam lock harnesses for driver and passenger. Has a brand new dash board with all new gauges that all function properly, new radio, new switches, brand new 22 gallon fuel cell with working gauge. Lightweight trunk lid and fiberglass rear bumper to help lighten the car. Car also has a brand new SSBC front disc brake conversion kit with Hurst roll control and completely rebuild rear brakes with new drums and all new lines. The transmission is a built c6 with a manual valve body a 3500 rpm stall torque converter with a Turbo Action Cheetah scs shifter. The car will come with the Crites large tube headers that have been jet coated with 3" exhaust with Dougs electric cut outs just installed. One of the cutouts will need to be replaced as it was damaged. I have had several questions on the transmission and torque converter, they come with the car as well as the headers, hood also comes with car as well as cold air induction hoses everything but the motor. What was damaged during the wreck, obviously the front end hit the lamp post and the lower control arm road up on top of the lamp post, the fiberglass front bumper saved the frame from being damaged by just shattering rather than bending and pushing on the frame. The cross member was not damaged. The car will need a new front horn bracket welded to the frame to attach the radiator core support and front bumper. It will need new grill, radiator, radiator core support, inner fender outer fender, drivers side headlight buckets and lights, a new front bumper and drivers side bumper brackets, parking lights and lenses are still good. Drivers side fender trim and a rear quarter panel and quarter panel trim. There was some slight damage done to the rear tub on drivers side can only be seen in the trunk not in the car. The drivers side door was not damaged at all opens and closes perfectly and none of the passenger side or rear has any damage. Had a frame guy look at it while I had it on the rack and he felt like a couple of hours would get everything back in specs including replacing lower control arm. Will need a new lower control arm. You can get the hood, bumper, fender and fiberglass core support from Crites performance and reproduction parts in Ashville Ohio and new quarter panels are on the internet. The paint chrome and trim on undamaged areas is a 8 out of 10 As you can see by the list of what i just did to this car I had just got it to where I really liked it, should be a easy rebuild allowing you to have a awesome car with a low cost and some sweat equity. The car can be seen in Buford Ga. and it can be driven onto rack for you inspection. Just drove the car short distance yesterday, steers and tracks fine. Motor will stay in the car till it is sold so the car can be easily moved. If you have questions or need more pictures please email vintagepine@gmail.com or call Art 770-861-8809 from 7:00 am till 9:30 pm eastern standard times. Car is for sale locally and is subject to end at any timeI have had several questions regarding the damage to the quarter panel. The panel was damaged when the axle broke and the wheel and tire did all the damage because the tire was to big to come out from under the car. The rear suspension received no damage at all. Quarter panels and patch panels are availabile for this car. This car will be sold with a notarized bill of sale because Georgia does not issue titles on cars this old. Georgia requires a police officer to verify vin # and a bill of sale to issue a tag. So check with your states department of motor vehicles on what is needed to register the car in your state.
