Vehicle Detail
1977 Suzuki GT750B - Last model year for the 2 stroke GT750. Bike has 11,274 miles and clear title. Was purchased in 2003 with the intent of restoring but with too many other projects and a job relocation, must sell. Bike was last run about 3 years ago. When trying to start recently, noticed that the oil injection tank was showing low in the window. When the spark plugs were removed and the engine turned through, injection oil was purged from the spark plug holes. I now suspect that injection oil from the reservoir tank has made it's way into the cylinders. Engine turns through fine with plugs removed but is difficult with plugs reinstalled. Cosmetically, the bike is very good for its age with the usual signs of pitting on chrome. Gas tank has absolutely no internal rust. There is one small shallow dent on the right side of gas tank which I've tried to show in one of the pictures. If you look closely, you can see in the exact center of picture. The exhaust system is in exceptional condition, showing only pitting of the chrome finish. There is no rust that has perforated the steel anywhere. Amazing condition. More importantly, (and what attracted me to the bike for restoration purposes) the bike is absolutely complete and has NOT been molested in any way. Everything shown is true to original and has not been altered or modified…A rare find. I can post more pictures if certain areas are requested. Please ask questions. I wish to be honest and straightforward in the process. If the bike is not as stated, I will offer a full refund of deposit upon arrival and inspection. I may be able to assist with delivery within a 150 mile radius of Cincinnati but again, please inquire. Finally - Not shown or included in the auction but a potential buyer may be interested… I have collected many NOS parts for this bike, most of which are long out of production and very rare. To name just a few - front brake calipers (2), complete brake hose set, radiator (very rare), engine case side covers, chrome air box covers, headlight bucket, handlebars, mirror set, front fender, brake and lever master cylinder assembly, instrument chrome backs, gaskets, etc...On Jul-07-14 at 07:34:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Another Ebay member has offered an explanation to the oil being purged from the spark plug holes - The injection oil is pumped into the cylinders and should not be able to leak in. The oil showing up in the cylinders is most likely crankcase (and not injection oil) that is being allowed past the crankshaft seals during the cranking processing, causing over compression (hard to turn) with the spark plugs installed. Normally, the crank seals should prevent the suction of lower end oil up into the combustion chamber. Thanks to the Ebay member for his help...
