Vehicle Detail
Up for sale with no reserve is a cool little hot rod. The car has been in several magazines including Hot Rod Deluxe, Rod and Kulture and Hot rods and Harleys. The car was run at the Race of Gentlemen last year and has done laps at the Jalopy Showdown. The car started out as a homemade body built by a young hot rodder named Charlie Erickson. He built the body when he was 15. We got the body after his car was parted out many years later. We built a car around the cool little body. The frame was custom built for the car. It's made of 2x4 tubing with a hand formed kick up in the back. The rollbar is removable. It has a 46 Ford rear with a model A spring mounted infront of the axle. Up front it has a 35 Ford axle with the spring mounted to the wishbones. 40 ford brakes all the way around. It has 16 inch 35 ford wire wheels with goodyear ribbed tires up front and knobbies out back The motor is a Mercury flathead that runs strong (won two rounds at the Race of Gentlemen) It is hooked to a Chevy automatic transmission via an adapter. Motor runs cool and does not smoke. The interior is sparse. Floors are painted, seat is just covered in marine vinyl, sides are aluminum. the body is small and not comfortable for tall people to drive. The shifter is a custom push/pull to save space. There is a cool Ross cowl steering box in there. Gauges are a mix match assortment. Paint is black single stage. There is chipping from running the car on a dirt track....I think it looks cool.
