The Land Rover Discovery II embodies the perfect combination of the luxury that many people desire while keeping its reputation as the sturdiest and most sought-after off-road vehicle on just about every continent. And the 2003 was one of the best production years made. I dearly love this truck/car. I bought it a year ago; I had wanted one since first laying eyes on them years ago, and finally found this one. I have enjoyed it more than I can say, but my health is such that I am no longer able to get out and about and enjoy it to its fullest. It is time to pass it on to some other Disco lover. Overall, this vehicle is in Good to Very Good Condition. This vehicle is being offered for sale locally and may be withdrawn at any time during the auction if sold outright. Okay, now to the good, the bad and the ugly: The good is that this vehicle has been well maintained, runs well and reliably, and has given me no grief in all the time I've had it. It also looks great, the dual moon roofs don't leak at all, and no one has ever smoked in it. The tires are quite good. The bad is that the gas gauge doesn't work correctly. When full, it registers 1/2 a tank. So I just go by the mileage and fill it accordingly. Also, The Three Amigos, as they are called on the internet, are starting to act up. They are the traction control, abs and downhill descent. When you start the car, those three lights stay on. If you turn the car off and restart it, they don't light up. The sensor has to be replaced or rebuilt from what I understand, although all three systems are actually working perfectly. I drive the car occasionally and all systems work fine. I believe the fix to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 - $500, but I'm certainly no mechanic. The ugly is that there are a couple of 'supermarket dings' in the car, and a small crease and scrape of some kind in the front bumper of which I was not aware until I washed it this morning. I've had it a year and never noticed it. Otherwise, the body looks great. The headliner is perfect, as are the carpets. They are true black, although the cargo area looks gray in the photo. I put the rear light guards on, and have the access ladder, although I've not had in installed. It will be in the car for whoever buys it to do with as they wish. I have pot bellied pigs, and there are a couple low places that need to be lightly compounded to remove some marks where they've scratched themselves while the car was in the driveway. Not a major problem to do. I've had to do it with all my vehicles. I'm just not physically up to it any more.
