Vehicle Detail

1979 Ford Mustang GhiaOriginal 302 V8 EngineOriginal 4-speed transmission As much as I hate to do it I'm putting my baby up for sale. I've had this car since 2008 and have had a lot of fun with it but its time to move on. A new baby on the way means some changes and this is one of them. I've spent a ton of money on this car over the years, much more than I will ever get out of it. When I got the car it was pretty much bone stock except for a cheap repaint to maroon. I soon realized that the car was originally black and that it was a pretty rare optioned car. Between the V8 transmission, Ghia coupe body, sunroof, vinyl top, and black paint, it makes this car 1 of 4. With the 8 track radio, its 1 of 2. The marti report is pictured in the photos. The paint is about three years old, its a nice job, but not a show car finish. Basic acrylic enamel, it shows good, but isn't perfect. The vinyl top is original and in very good condition. All of the moldings are original and nice. They have all been restored with SEM trim black. The blue pinstripe isn't original to the car, just something I've added for a little different look. The engine has been modified with a summit aluminum intake and holly carb. I still have the original intake, carb, smog, cruise control(which worked when I took it off), etc. etc. You can have it if you want. It has a big griffin aluminum radiator and huge electric fan. I sat in traffic for hours in Myrtle Beach and it never got over 210 degrees with the ac on. Speaking of the AC, it blows nice and cold, everything is new. New power steering pump as well. It has redline hood struts so you don't need a prop rod. The wheels are a period correct wire mesh, although I'm not sure of the brand. They have been professionally redone and the tires have less that 500 miles on them. The car has air shocks under the rear to give it a more aggressive rake. Brakes have been recently redone front and rear. It has slotted rotors on the front. New tie rod ends. The cars drives great. The interior features new black carpet, Corbeau GTS II seats, very comfortable by the way. The rear panels came from a black car, as well as the door panels. No dyed parts. The console has been dyed black but looks very nice. New carpet, rear seat delete kit. I have the factory tan seats and carmel colored door panels and interior panels if the new owner wants them. The transmission features a modified Hurst shifter handle, the t-handle in the photos does not come with the car. It has a Florida 5.0 passenger side gauge mount with Stewart Warner gauges. The 8-track in the car is not original but it is period correct for what the car would have had. The radio works but I'm having some trouble getting the 8 track to play consistently, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The car runs and drives great, the trans shifts smooth, everything works like it should. At over 100k miles, its no power house and does puff a little smoke when you let off of it, but runs great for its age. The carb is a little to big for the car so it hesitates a little when you first go WOT, a small rejet would fix this issue but I never abuse the car, just baby so I don't worry too much about it. I wouldn't be afraid to drive the car anywhere, in fact, before I decided to drive my 2013, I was going to take in on the Power Tour this year. Like I said, I have lots of original parts, complete photo history of the car since I've had it, down to every little modification. New owner will get all these digital files. This is a very nice car, not perfect, but nice. You don't see many 1st year foxbodies in this condition. There are a few original pieces that aren't perfect here and there, but it is an old car, not a new one. Feel free to come look at it before you bid, as all sales are final. One last thing I'd like to add, this car won best 1979-1986 at Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach in 2010. It won an Award of Excellence(Top 75) in 2011,2012, and 2013. For those in the Mustang world, I think those awards should vouch for the quality of the car. I will be glad to assist with shipping arrangements of the car if needed. Non-refundable deposit must be paid via paypal after purchase. On Jun-24-14 at 08:24:51 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added a ton of the "history" photos of the car since they day I got it. Send me a message and I'll forward them to you.
