Vehicle Detail

I have a Chevrolet Rat Rod Panel Van built from almost the ground up. Besides this truck it took 3 other donors to get it to this stage. 97 Jimmy, 92 GMC conversion van, and a 52 chevy grain truck cab. If you have Instagram go to bustedknucklez user and you can see a step by step build on this truck and the 6+ month time frame it took. Not only did I use a lot of donor parts it received a ton of brand new parts too. Nothing to hide if you look I was building this to keep for myself/shop truck a 1940 Ford Choptop Sedan fell into my lap I can't keep or drive them all this one is going to go. This truck is highway ready and has over a 1000 miles since built. It was built to drive no trailer queen here. Features: Mustang II front end brand new aftermarket from Lakeshore Fab - Rack and Pinion steering, Tubular A Arms, GM Metric Brakes, and 11 in. drilled disc rotors. Drives and stops excellent. Frame was boxed from firewall to the old front spring hanger to accommodate aftermarket cross member. It is C notched for steering boots and tie rods. About 15 inches of rear frame was also boxed and C notched for rear end axle tube clearance. Rear end is out of the 1997 Jimmy listed above it also gave rear leaf springs, hangers, and sway bar. New shocks. The Grain Truck Cab gave a lot actually. Started I needed a dash. Original dash was rotten all across the bottom. It was cut out and replaced by the dash out of grain truck and blanked all except the glove box door. It is operational but there is no box behind it. I was going to mount a radio behind it- this has NOT been done.Grill also came from grain truck donor. The doors are a whole bunch of new and used parts Started at back doors glass, hinges, and skins are the only things original. I took rotory latches out of the GMC and transferred them into the doors. handle is out of GMC too it is mounted at a slight angle to give look of the old handles that sagged a little. Windows got new gaskets when they went back in. Front doors got 4 new hinges, all new tinted glass, new regulators, and new felt. Latches strickers and inner door opening hardware were fabbed and modified from the GMC conversion van. It wasn't easy but they work great. New tinted windshield and gaskets. Van gave engine, transmission, steering column, computer and wiring harness - including all sensors, ports, and gauges. Master cylinder, booster, and brake pedal assembly too. All Gauges work including check engine light and anti lock brake sensor. Drivetrain doesn't know it's not still in the GMC. 350 V8 with 700R4 transmission behind it. I got the serpentine belt system to fit it is equipped with under drive pulleys from JEGS. Engine has cruise control module on it but it is INOP I haven't trouble shooted yet. Serpentine system has AC compressor still on it but it isn't hooked to anything. Everything else works. Speedo is right on with GPS. Shifter is cable operated so indicator works perfectly(my wife drives this with no worries). It got a new fuel tank out of a 87 Chevy pickup(had to have tray for throttle body fuel pump) it got a new fuel pump assembly too. This had to be fabricated to fit and fabbed so original fuel fill could be used. Works really good other than pump has to be set slow to fill - angles just would not allow straight dump. It also got a Brand New 4 core aluminum radiator. I put a 2500 CFM electric fan on it. Fan is on manual switch 4 core radiator works very good and rarely needs the fan. Seats are from a late 80's style Suburban they look good and console is really nice and is very handy. Also installed an interior courtesy light - very nice touch can't believe how much you will use this. Custom paint on dash is on not in clear coat and can be removed or changed with no harm to base paint. Pinstripes were done by MK John local artist right here in town. Look at the pics call if you have any questions I am sure I forgot something. Get on instagram if you can - user bustedknucklez. You will see entire build. You can stop by and check it out and take it for a spin just let me know. Thanks for looking Kurt 314-479-5026
