All Porsche 911s are the stuff of legends but the GT3 is a rolling deity! Built on the Porsche 996 platform, it features the naturally aspirated 3.6 six cylinder, 24 valve engine. The engine of this GT3 sets it apart from other 996 models, although it shares the same basic 3.6 litre displacement of the standard 996 type so-called "integrated dry-sump" flat-six engine. Along with the GT2 and Turbo, it is based on the original air-cooled 911's versatile, true dry-sump crankcase with an external oil tank. This version of the GT3 has 375hp, compared to 296hp of the standard 911. The GT3 is the highest-revving of any 911 because it has the lightest engine internals. Redline on the tachometer is 8200 rpm for the GT3, 7300rpm for a base Carrera, and 6750rpm for the Turbo and GT2. Compared with the 911 Carrera, the GT3 uses titanium connecting rods that are 0.09 inch longer, shorter pistons and shorter hydraulic valve tappets. Porsche says that by using the lighter pieces, it could also remove the crankshaft vibration damper which saved 4.4 pounds. All this power is complemented by a six-speed manual transmission which was the only gearbox offered by Porsche. Compared to the standard 911, fourth and fifth gears have a shorter throw and the top four gears use steel rather than brass synchros for greater durability and have an added transmission-oil cooler. This GT3 is distinctly finished in Porsche Black and complemented by an all-Black leather interior, leather wrapped steering wheel and factory A/C. The interior is in excellent condition including the seats, carpets, headliner, dash and gauges all reflecting the cars low 18k miles! The exterior paint is pristine from front to back, with sleek lines that culminate to an eye catching highly functional rear double spoiler! Porsche designed the undercarriage on this GT3 so that nothing is left exposed and features full under-side aerodynamics that only add to this cars legendary handling! This GT3 shares its suspension with the GT2, so its handling is equally crisp, lively and taut. Compared with a base Carrera, the GT3 is a lot better balanced, not so afflicted with incessant understeer and it's much easier to use the rear end to change direction. This 2005 GT3 was engineered as the sports cars, delivering exotic performance with everyday drivability! It handles tenaciously with stupendous braking and a heart-thumping exhaust note!
