Vehicle Detail
2002 BMW R 1150 R PROJECT with 22K miles - not many for a BMW. The bike comes with a Corbin saddle, detachable windshield and bracket, the factory grab rails at the back with the top rack and the BMW hard bags. I also have an aftermarket top case with mounting plate. The mounting plate for the top case is on the bike right now so I can snap the top case on and zip up to the store. The windshield brackets take 30 minutes or so to put on, so I just leave them in place and take the windshield off and on. I am the third owner and put the last 6000 miles or so on the bike over the last 2 or 3 years. We've taken the bike on a couple of long trips and it did great, but mostly I just take the occasional Sunday ride. The previous owner told me he put most of the miles on the bike. It had less than 1000 miles on it when he bought it from the dealer after the original owner, a new rider, dropped it at low speed. The dealer said it was just cosmetic - couple of dents in the tank and a scrap or two. The guy before me just left it. I had the tank fixed and repainted, but it hasn't held up well. It looks fine from fifteen feet or so, but not up close. I got a Triumph a couple of years ago and end up riding it all the time, and the BMW has just sat. I didn’t mean for it to just sit there for all that time, but we didn’t do anymore long trips and before I realized it, the battery was dead and it sat some more. It has always been kept in a garage and was in good shape until my heart was taken by the Triumph. It is being listed AS IS, WHERE IT IS. It has NOT been started in a couple of years and will need work. It will need a battery at the very least, but it is a solid bike. Terms and Conditions: Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding Deposit of $500 due within 48 hours. Balance due in CASH when you pick up the bike. No personal checks, bank checks, credit card checks, or money orders. If you want to pay the entire amount through PayPal there will be an extra 3% added to the selling price to cover PayPal's fee. I prefer local pickup. I will help to ship if the buyer takes care of all the arrangements and pays the shipping cost directly. You have 14 days to pick up the bike. After that you forfeit your deposit. This person asked about about the fuel pump and tires. I don't lnow about the fuel pump - it was fine the last time the battery was charged and I tried to start it, the bike ran fine, but that was about two years ago. The tires are the second set I put on the bike and appear to be in good condition. I did not see any cracking. Please note, this bike is a PROJECT.
