Vehicle Detail

I came across this barn find 1971 GT Torino. Somebody really went to town back in the day when ordering this one: J-Code 429CJ 4-Speed close ratio toploader 3.50:1 N case rear Shaker Louvers Hideaways Buckets Console Tach Bright Red exterior Red Lazers Red Vinyl Comfort Weave interior It is a project car. All of the main components are accounted for. Has the numbers matching 4-bolt main engine (needs rebuilt) and transmission (rug-au1). Correct cobra jet heads, intake manifold, and exhaust manifolds. The 9" N-case rear with the staggered shocks unique to 4-speed cars. Most of the shaker assembly is present although I am not sure the air cleaner base assembly is correct (mid plate is complete and in nice shape). Hideaways are in bad shape but the louvers are perfect (except for paint) and never have been off car. Interior needs help. Door panels are useable. Front seats look to be repairable, back seat is good. Headliner is shot. Dash pad got modified with aftermarket gauges (darn '70's mods!). Console is excellent except for holes into top plate as seen in pictures. Body has rust but is mostly solid. Will need front floor pans and one of the rear pans. Frame rails are in good shape. Cowl is solid from what I can tell as are the shock towers. Original shaker hood is toast, cannot be saved. Trunk looks good. Still has factory markings on the inside. Trunk lid will need work, especially after removing the gm style wing mounted on it (darn '70's mods!). Minor rust behind rear wheels. Drop downs are repairable. Z-bar is present, as is the shift linkage and driveshaft. Lots of miscellaneous pieces: x - fuel pump, pulleys, balancer, motor mounts, cj exhaust manifolds, cj intake, valve covers, starter etc... The car is a complete re-do, but this car is rare enough, and solid enough to bring back to life. When done, this will be one sharp, rare car. According to the Marti report, there were only 80 j-code, 4-speed GT's in 1971. This possibly could have been a dealer's personal car as it was built in October of 1970 but didn't sell until August of 1971. I'd keep her and fix her up myself but I already have 2 in the garage. Here are a few pictures. For more pictures of the car, please use this link for all the pictures I have. http://imgur.com/a/eP3NJ#0 I have a clear title for the car. Car is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I work 12 hour shifts at a steel mill, days one week, nights the next. So be patient if I don't answer questions right away. Sorry, not interested in trades. Thanks and good luck bidding. Shipping: Transportation / shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. (Remember, this car does NOT drive and has lots of parts that go with it) I can try and help with this but I do have a wacky work schedule so no promises as to what I can and cannot do. If shipping out of the states, all duties, import fees and such are the responsibility of the purchaser. Payment: A non-refundable $500.00 deposit via paypal & communication is due within 3 days of the auction end. No full payment is to be made via paypal. The balance is due in full within 7 days of the auctions end & must be paid via wire transfer, cashier's check, or cash in person. If purchasing from outside the states, payment is wire transfer only. The vehicle does not leave until paid in full and cleared through my bank. The car is being sold "as is, where is". No warranties whatsoever. What you see is what you get. Look it over closely, because if you bid and win, it is yours to keep and enjoy. No buyers remorse allowed :) Thanks for checking out my auction and good luck bidding.
