No reserve auction so bid to win! If you have ever wanted a Mercedes SL in the most desirable color at an affordable price then look no more! Up for auction is my 1998 Mercedes SL500 finished in all silver with a nice black interior. This car runs good and looks very nice but it is by no means in mint shape and the price reflects this. The car is ready to go anywhere and most important the air conditioning is ice cold. This is a car that still gets looks even if it is 16 years old. Exterior is nice but has the usual scratches you'd expect on a car of this age and miles (yes 188,000 sounds like a lot but this a Mercedes afterall) but overall it still looks great. Interior is very nice and the black leather seats are in good shape except for a wear area on the driver side bolster. All windows work, gauges read correctly and there are no check engine or warning lights. Shifts good and the engine sounds good. Exhaust is excellent as are the brakes. There is a little power steering whine but no leaks or problems so I am not sure if this is just me being too sensitive to the sound. Hardtop is in great shape and the headliner is not sagging. I have never seen the soft-top so I do not know if this works or how it looks. Wheels are monoblock style but are not AMG (actually one is an AMG, the other 3 are OEM Mercedes rims). Tires are ok, but need to be replaced sometime in the future. Visors are broken (I will include them if you want them) as well as the rear view mirror and the dome light (I can include them as well even if they are a bit shattered). Fog lights are broken, bumper is in good shape. In all a good car that just needs a little TLC that can be given to it for a weekend that can really make it into the supercar it is. Take a look at the pictures (sorry Ebay only allows 12 to be uploaded and it was very bright on the day the pictures were taken) and please email me with any questions and I will be glad to help. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells but otherwise no reserve and the final bidder will get it. Hard to believe this car had an MSRP of $90,000 in 1998, you can safely assume all the depreciation has been absorbed by the previous owners as this one can only go up in value. Good luck and thanks for looking!
