Vehicle Detail
Get a jump on spring and get a great convertible for $6,500. Great bargain! Priced below what I have in it. Odometer reads 112,000 and I believe it to be accurate. The car has the original transmission and 390 engine that was rebuilt about ten years ago and has about 15,000 miles on it. Front disc and rear drum brakes. Have a clear Minnesota title. --The Good-- The heads were not rebuilt with the engine, but I just replaced them (0 miles on them) with a set of rebuilt 1966 (C6AE-R) heads which provide better flow and power. The car came stock with a 2 barrel intake and carb which I just replaced with a ford intake and edelbrock carb. The top is brand new, the old one was ok but the cross bows were bad so it looked like a bubble going down the road. Unfortunately that's one unit, so a costly replacement. I saved back glass window and re used. The top is the high quality cloth type. The cylinders and hydraulic lines have been replaced and it works fantastic. Other new items include new water pump, brake master cylinder, carpet, steering gear, intake gasket, exhaust gaskets, heater hose, antifreeze, valve cover gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, exhaust pipe gaskets. The exterior looks really nice. The paint shows little wear. There is some minor surface rust in the door jam areas. The bumper's do have some pitting and cracking up close, 5 foot range and would have to be re- chromed for show quality. The rest of the chrome is good. Hide away lights perform perfectly. The trunk does not have a spare tire, it does have jack. The original rim/hubcaps cleaned up great. Very minor pitting, you could fill in black accents where desired. The interior really looks great. The seats are older covered, still look good, I repaired/replaced several rips and re padded drivers sagging area. The carpet is new. It has black rubber mat covers. The original am/fm radio in dash turns on but no sound. The glass running vertically over original radio is cracked. The best thing done to make this car look fantastic was I found a great interior guy who recovered the dash pad. Unique dash that would be nearly impossible to replace. The original was good with typical non pleasing cracks over time. All dash board instruments work well. Clock even works sometimes. I've replace most of the rubber molding where I could as needed. --The bad-- The car just needs a few things to be finished up and ready to roll: The front right quarter panel was recently damaged by a wheel barrow full of bricks (see picture). It needs the small dents fixed, a little paint, and the turn light replaced (which I have on order and comes with the sale). The accelerator cable needs to be replaced. I have a temp cable installed and have a universal cable that comes with the sale that just needs to be installed. The is a small leak in the brake line just forward of the rear tire. This is an easy fix. The transmission pan gasket need replacement which is an easy fix - I have the part and it comes with the sale. I haven't had a chance to set the timing after reinstalling the distributor, but the engine starts and runs fine. It has an electric aftermarket fuel pump that was installed, but I would recommend disconnecting and using the mechanical fuel pump that is installed on the motor. I just don't have the time to finish the vehicle and would like to see her go to someone that will finish the restoration. Please call or text with any questions. The car finished is worth at least $10,000 I am taking $3,500 off the price to cover the cost of the fender repair and minor issues that need to be fixed. First $6,500 cash takes it!!
