Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 1991 Toyota Pickup extra cab with the 22RE enging and 4WD. This has been a phenomenal truck for me over the past couple years and has worked great. When i first recieved it, i replace the fluid in the transmission, front and rear differentials and have kept up on the oil and all other fluids as well. I upgraded the exhaust to a doug thorley header and Gibson exhaust system. Still has the old catalytic converter though which most likely needs to be replaced. Also upgraded to a less restricted air intake. I have replaced the spark plug wires, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. There is also a new stereo installed in the truck that has bluetooth, aux input, usb and cd player. It also has 4 JBL speakers that sound great. No sub woofer so you don't necessarily feel the bass but you can sure hear it if that is what you like. late 2012 i was getting about 20-22 mpg depending on how it was driven of coarse, but still did very well. This truck has been registered in Michigan, however it has never spent a winter in Michigan. I bought the truck in April of 2012 and moved to California in August 2012 where the truck still is today. Issues: (explained below)burns excessive oilslight power steering leakno A/C installedrips on seatpaint (ill let the pictures explain this one)catalytic converter should be replace if the truck stops burning oil as well. As much as i would love to say this truck is perfect, it does have its share of issues that i will do my best to make you all aware of. Since owning the truck there had always been a issue with the oil. at first i thought it was just leaking it, and had the front and rear seals replaced as well as the oil pan gasket. after all that work, it was no longer leaking, but i noticed that i was still going through oil. ever since i got out to california, i had been trying to pass smog and just could not make it happen. I know that it is burning oil and it has been getting bad enough that it now burns about a quart of oil per tank of gas. It runs just fine but puts out a nice grey smoke out the tailpipe. I decided to just get a new truck that can accommodate more people comfortably for a camping trip or road trip and stop putting more and more money into this truck. Cosmetically, there are a lot of scratches and small dents and the paint has chipped in some areas and the clear coat is barely holding on. Mechanically, everything is great with the exception of having to put oil in every time you put gas in the tank. There is also a very small power steering leak that i have had to top up only twice since owning it. I do have some A/C parts that i got with the truck, but have never done anything with, but there are no A/C parts installed on the truck. To the best of my knowledge that is every issue that i know of. I do not know what it will take to fix the burning oil problem either. sorry i am not more helpful on that issue. The owner of the truck before me said that the engine had been rebuilt i think somewhere around 253,000 miles but could not tell me what exactly that rebuild entailed. Please let me know if you have any questions. I also have a video of the engine running that i would be happy to email to you. just send me your email address and ill send it your way if i can. Thanks for looking! On Jun-01-14 at 14:01:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Also the truck was in a small accident that required replacing the fender earlier this year. The damage is fixed however the paint match was slightly off. So you can actually see a small difference in the tones. It is the passenger side front fender and I tried to catch the different colors in the main picture. But most people don't even catch the difference. But I just wanted to make sure that I addressed it.
