Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an "as-is" black on black 1977 Porsche 911s. I am the 3rd owner and it has been garaged in non-op status since 1992. It is a California car with no rust. The car has new tires, new paint with bad orange peel around the sunroof, new headliner, updated chain tensioners, newly painted rims, new rear suspension bushing kit, a rebuilt smog pump (installed) and thermal reactors are supplied (the car has headers now). On May 23, 2014 the engine oil and filter were changed and the sump pump screen was removed and cleaned. The car was then fired up for the first time in 22 years. If you would like to see a video of the car running on that day, contact me and I will email you the video. The car seems to have some oil seepage which results in some blue smoke until it burns off. Not sure if this is caused by leaky valve guides. Porsche recommends that valve guides be changed at 60k miles and this was never done. The car has 105,467 miles on it. This is a project car that, even though it has a rebuilt smog pump and supplied thermal reactors, I don't think will pass smog without some additional work because of the oil seepage into the exhaust. It has no battery, no rear seats (my plan was to install a roll bar so I removed them), and no carpets. This car needs to go to someone that has the time to restore it and sort out any issues. The car comes with factory manuals and some miscellaneous Porsche tools. The reason I am selling the Porsche: I had to make a choice between two projects - finish the restoration of my 911s or restore and race a vintage Formula 3 car that I have owned for a while. I have included a photo of my Formula car but only the Porsche is up for auction. The Formula car is NOT part of this auction. I posted a photo of the Formula car knowing that car enthusiasts would appreciate the decision I had to make.
