Are you tired of the same old VF1000R paint scheme? I was. These are great bikes but they all look the same. Not this one. I bought this bike in pieces with an extra engine because there was something very wrong with the original one. The other engine is out of an 85 VF1000R that had front end damage and only had 10,064 miles on it. It runs great. While I had the engine out I had the frame, wheels and triple clamp powder coated in M&M orange. I replaced all five wheel bearings and all brake pads. The rear Sprocket and chain are new as well as the Pirelli Sport Demon tires. The seat cover is new and not red. I made new side covers out of expanded metal and had them powder coated instead of the plastic ones that break and are nearly impossible to find. The carburetors were rebuilt and all fuel hoses and o rings were replaced. The body pieces had numerous problems as many of these older bikes do. I had them repaired the best that they could and painted a Toyota blue. I think they look great and the color really pops with the orange. I used polished stainless steel bolts on all of the body panels. All of the aluminum pieces on the bike have been wire wheeled so they have a brushed look. The aluminum bar ends are polished. The wind screen is new. The F1 mufflers are empty and sound awesome, they have been ceramic coated in black. The grips are new and go along with the color scheme. It looks great and runs great. This bike was last registered in West Virginia, how it got to California, I don't know. I have the title for it, so it shouldn't be a problem. This is a great bike but it is 28 years old, though it doesn't look it. If you like this model, this would be a great one to have. It also comes with the single seat cowl, though I didn't take a picture with it on. Good luck!
