1986 Honda CR

Rebuilt, Rebuildable & Reconstructed

For sale is a very nice 1986 CR 500. It has been completely gone through and is ready to ride. This started out as an unmolested bike and was mechanically and cosmetically restored. This bike was restored to race and is not a mueum piece. However, it wouldn't take much to get it there. I listed all the details of the bike below. If you have any quesions feel free to contact me. I would be happy to answer them. This is a very nice solid bike that runs as good as it looks. · Frame: is in excellent condition. Striped and painted the correct color to match the plastics. No repairs to frame. Engine cradle tubes are not crushed and look excellent. Sub frame is in excellent condition with no welds or bends. · Suspension: Linkage is in nice shape and was removed to be greased and reinstalled. Rear shock was rebuilt with new seals, bumper and oil. Shaft and spring is in great shape. Fork seals were in great shape and fresh fork oil installed. · New chain defense, New Roller and New chain guard. · Air box is in good shape. Two holes have been cut into it for better air flow. I planned on riveting screen where the holes were cut but have not had a chance yet. · Motor: motor was completely rebuilt top to bottom. New piston/rings on the top end. Bottom end has all new bearings and seals. Crank is in excellent shape. This bike already had a very nice clutch cover but an even better one was found and installed. Motor is like new and runs great. Water pump area is perfect. Clutch basket is in very nice shape as well. Motor has 3-4 coats of high heat satin black paint. New over sized aluminum radiators were installed along with hoses and New aluminum radiator guards. · Plastic: it is all OEM plastic and in very nice shape. Tank had some surface fading which was removed and now has nice color. New side cover and front number plate heavy duty yellow number plate decals were installed. New shroud decals were also installed · Seat: New seat cover – seat base is in nice shape. · New heavy duty zinc coated peg pins were installed. Pegs pivot perfect are tight. There is no play in them · Wheels: New tires on front & back, front rim is very nice but rear rim has scrapes on the sprocket side. · New aluminum gear shift lever · Controls: new bars, levers, clutch perch and grips were installed. Also installed a new clutch cable. · New fork boots · Kick starter is in excellent shape, tight and clicks into place as it should. · New swing arm decals were also installed · Exhaust: pipe does have some dents it but it is stock. Aluminum silencer is in nice shape. · Drive: New Rear sprocket and New Heavy duty tensile strength 520 chain SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I dont mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you.
