Here's a rare opportunity to buy a true barn find 1960 Cadillac Coupe deVille! I just found and rescued this car and now I'm offering it for sale. It was parked in the barn in 1979 and started/yard driven a few times since, but not recently (according to the previous owner's family). The body is decent considering it spent it's life in RUSTconsin! The front bumper and fenders are only bolted on loosely and some wires in the fenders were cut, since they were removed/loosened by the previous family starting to restore it at one point. This car is definitely a good candidate for a restoration. Even the glass washer bottle is there an unbroken! There is a clear title for the car. The stainless trim on this car is BEAUTIFUL! The only dented piece is the driver's side lower quarter trim, and it's salvagable. Even the pot-metal parts have relatively little pitting. Not having to find and replace the stainless parts will save thousands! It also has the fender skirts but there are mismatched hubcaps. The two on the rear are correct for the car, but the two fronts are from a 61-62, according to what I've been told. When I pulled this from it's resting place last week, the engine was tight. But I have it freed up now and it turns over nicely with the starter. I installed new plugs and I have a points kit for it. I'll add an update if I get it running during the course of the auction. I'm sure that this is the original engine for the car, but don't know how to confirm. If someone wants to instruct me, I'll check. I still don't have the carb linkage loosened up, so it's not quite running yet. But it does cough thru the carb, so it is getting spark. The carb will need rebuilding or replacement. It's a "center-squirter" with 4 tubes leading toward the center of the carb. There is no air cleaner. The glass is also good withg the exception of the passenger door glass, which is cracked. There are some minor scratches on the windshield and rear window, but no cracks. Also, 3all 4 of the power windows work with the motors. The passenger door window goes down with the switch, but not up, so the problem is in the wire somewhere. I was able to use a jumper wire to raise it, so all the windows are now up to keep the rain out. Like I said, this car was stored in a barn for 35 years and MANY critters have been feasting on the interior. The seats are there, but will need to be restuffed and recovered. The same is true for the trunk; it's been vacuumed out and the original plaind material is still there, but will need replacement due to animal odors. I'll be happy to answer all questions.
