Vehicle Detail
j_chilberta1sm Store *** This XK150 Is Located In Oceanport, NJ 07757... Not Lumberton *** I am listing this Jaguar for my friend who purchased the car from a California owner in 1987. This XK150 Coupe has seen little use over his last 27 years of ownership. It has always been garaged and properly maintained. *** This Is Not A True "S" Model *** but was built to "S" specifications about 6 or 7 years ago. The rebuilt 3.8 liter engine has only seen about 300 total miles since. At that time a fully synchronized 4 speed, electric overdrive transmission was installed. The driveshaft was shortened and balanced and a new clutch assembly was installed. The engine rebuild and drivetrain work was performed by Stewart Plant of Crow Engineering, UK. This Car Runs Out Strong... No Smoke... No Bad Engine Noises. She will easily motor past all of those trailer queens that look a little prettier. This is a very presentable, straight, excellent driving car that was built to be driven. Just last month $4700 was spent at a local Jaguar shop (Eddie's Restorations, Elwood, NJ) to get her ready for you, the new owner. The brakes (round pad type) were gone over and the calipers were rebuilt (stainless steel), front suspension work was performed and the steering rack rebuilt, the cooling system / heater was addressed, the wiper motor was rebuilt, and any necessary electrical work was performed (including some new switches) to make sure that everything works as it should. This Car Feels Tight, Corners Nicely, Brakes Evenly And Is A Pleasure To Drive. Follow me here, I mentioned that this car has always been taken care of with quality in mind. Both bumpers and many of the larger chrome pieces were re-chromed by Paul's Chrome Plating, Evans City, PA 25 years ago. The car was repainted, Carmine Red around 6 or 7 years ago. All of the maintenance and work in the early days (1987 on) was performed by Lazlo, a Jaguar specialist, from Ocean Grove, NJ Over the years this XK150 has had the front suspension completely rebuilt with new shocks, a stainless steel exhaust system, new fuel tank, the brake system overhauled, etc.. New Michelin tires and headliner installed within the last two years. Note: The paint has some blemishes with small nicks and scratches. Although the paint is good, the car was not totally taken apart and the rubber pieces around the lights, side windows, etc. were not replaced, they are dry and cracked. The side window chrome is weak with some small dents and dings. The window glass rattles in the drivers door and the top of the passenger side has some small chips. The speedometer is not working because the trans gear (internal) is not correct and recently the overdrive was not engaging, the last time out (seems the solenoid is sticking). Best to request the additional pictures, see below: *** I have a large file of pictures *** that I can e-mail you if I get your direct e-mail address that are much larger and shows much more of this car, the undersides, engine compartment, trunk, and many of the flaws mentioned. Best to call me if you need more information. Regards, Joe 609-518-0878 SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO CLOSE THE DEAL, PLEASE DO NOT BID OR MAKE AN OFFER.
