This is a sweetheart of a truck - a 1984 Chevrolet K-30 Silverado with a big block V8 engine, automatic transmission, and 4 wheel drive.  This is a heavy-duty truck that is reliable and ready for anything. Interior - The interior of this car is clean and in nice condition for its age.  It features power windows, power locks, tilt steering, full gauge package (all work properly, even the clock!), and an AM/FM/Cassette stereo.  The original seat is firm, supportive, and in nice condition except for an unfortunate cigarette burn.  The dash pad has some cracks from the sun, and has been covered with a carpet Dashmat.  The tilt steering column is still nice and tight, not loose or sloppy like some I’ve seen.  The heater controls all work smoothly, and the power windows and locks work fine.  All of the dash lights work, and the radio is simple and easy to use. Exterior - The exterior of the truck is also in nice condition.  There is no rust through anywhere on the truck, and there never has been (no questionable repair work).  There is a bit of light surface rust where the pin striping separates the light and dark blue, but all of the door corners, cab corners, rocker panels, wheel wells, etc are rust-free!  The truck needs a paint job -  some of the paint is smooth and shiny, other areas such as the roof, hood, and top of dually fenders have missing clear coat.  The rear dually fenders are in fine shape, no cracks or damage other than some scratches and scrapes.  With the exception of the drivers door and front fender (which both have a couple dings), the entire truck is very straight and dent-free.  Bumpers, grill, trim work, etc are also straight and in good condition - this truck hasn’t been rubbed against every pole and tree that came along.  All of the glass is good, no chips or cracks. Mechanical - This truck starts easily, runs well, shifts well, and drives down the road nicely.  The engine is a 454 V8 that is strong and well-maintained.  It is stock with the exception of an MSD ignition box.  It does have a pretty good oil leak from the rear main seal.  The transmission is a 3 speed automatic (TH400) which shifts nicely - goes into gear immediately, never slips or hesitates, and the fluid is clean.  The transfer case is the gear-driven NP205 heavy duty unit.  The front axle is the sought-after Dana 60 with lockout hubs and the rear is a 14-bolt, both have 4.10 gears.  The tires are 235/85R16, load range E, and in good condition.  There is no belt on the A/C compressor, but it turns smoothly by hand and the rest of the system is intact.  The truck has a fold-down gooseneck ball in the bed and a 12,000lb receiver hitch. Overall - This truck is a great driver and a good workhorse.  It has good power.  The steering is crisp and responsive.  The brakes work great.  The ride is firm, and the truck does not squeak or rattle when going over bumps.  The turn signals cancel themselves properly.  The wipers, horn, dash lights, heater, etc all work well.  This truck is ready to work as it sits, or is a great starting point for a restoration due to the clean, straight body.
