(a) HISTORY:...............I came across this stunning SL last July through eBay! The color, condition overall, and the extreme low miles, prompted me to purchase it, with a firm intention to keep for good! My understanding was that it belonged to a lady, first owner, who lived in Newport Beach, CA, and obviously, always garaged and serviced at the local dealer, where she traded in!....................................(b) REASON FOR SELLING: ...............I have been living in China for a while, and having this SL in the U.S. for my periodic visits and drive was ideal. One of my relatives agreed to have it parked at her available garage space! The honeymoon is over, and that space is needed for a second vehicle! Rather than paying a high cost of storage, it is wise for me to depart from this rare-color/condition SL, which I shouldn't have bought, to begin with!! .....................................(c) INFORMATION/CONDITION, ................... 1. COSMETICS: It is all ORIGINAL, and in absolutely STUNNING condition, EVERYTHING! The paint, original, is 100% glossy, and just like new! I cannot imagine it had been any better than what it is now! No scratches, fading, discoloring, dings or dents, "show-room" is the proper description! Leather seats are like new too, no holes, tear and wear, cigarette burns (neither the first owner, nor I ever smoked in it, never-used ashtray). Door panels, both sides, and dash like new, no scratches or cracks. Center console and the wood is in stunning and perfect condition, no signs of nail scratches or discoloring and fading (pictures will do the talking!). Soft top is great, no tears or holes; the clear window not discolored and is clear; there are couple of spots on the rear edges where the seams look a little faded from the original black color, hardly noticeable; I could have easily covered it with a black marker!! (you can easily do it!) Hard top is absolutely perfect! I never used it, and probably the previous owner did not either! I have stored it in my relative's garage, and sorry, was a hassle getting it out just for a photo session!! It is, like the whole car, like new! Windows, windshield, mirrors, door handles, bumpers, are all great! It has a set of Lorenzo chrome wheels and good tires, extra wide! Trunk is totally like new! Engine compartment is extremely clean (I have NOT cleaned it since I purchased last year), no signs of leaks, overheating, or abuse!! ......................... 2. MECHANICAL: As expected: Engine extremely powerful, smooth, quiet, aggressive, and responsive,.... as well as transmission and shifting! You can hardly notice the upshift or downshift. Suspension, cornering, and handling is extremely comfortable and smooth, no disappointments! Breaking is highly responsive and tight; luckily I never got to use the ABS, but, it is a Mercedes-Benz, and I am confident it is there!! There are NO LEAKS, whatsoever! The power top operates without any issues, easy putting the top up or down, all just with the push of a button, forward or backward! ........................................... (d) FINAL COMMENTS: ...................... I give the total credit to the previous owner, for the exceptional and meticulous condition and care for this beautiful SL! I have put only less than 1,000 miles on it since I acquired it, I only maintained it as I always do with any of my cars, I have pride in what I own, and I am certain the owner before me did too; I have always parked it is the garage, AND covered! It is supposed to have been started and driven around the block at my absence, and I will make sure there would be NO PROBLEMS in starting and the battery power when you pick the vehicle up, obviously!! I apologize for the quality and the angle of some of the pictures! They were all taken by my relative (I am in China, you remember?!), and I did not like them; but they hopefully do the job for you! I will be visiting the U.S. from May 5 though May 24, for my son's graduation (in New York), and hopefully will personally greet you, the LUCKY BUYER (really!) for the pick up.
