1983 Honda XL250R Introduced in 1972, Honda's XL250 four-stroke off-road machine featured the first mass-produced 4-valve engine since the Rudge of the 1920s. As such, it laid the groundwork for the wave of large displacement four stroke enduros. The XL250 was designed as an enduro machine, or in modern terminoloy, a "dual sport", sharing many characteristics of a dirtbike, but was street legal with lights, indicators, etc. The 250cc 4-stroke motor produces 24bhp at the wheel, and weighing in at only 288 lbs wet, it makes it a capable all-rounder. Demand for this model has remained high among collectors and enthusiasts. The bike offered is a great running example having just been serviced to ready it for sale. It starts easily and runs well. Brakes, suspension and all electrical work well. The 5900 miles on the odometer appears to be original. The bike comes with Clymer manual, clean, clear title and current California registration.
