This is a very rare 1942 Dodge Custom Club Coupe which appears to be one of the last assembled until after the war ended in 1945. Only a handful of these exist today. The number on the firewall plate is 3769CLC out of a production of 4659. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th, 1941 chromium & stainless steel became war materiel on Dec. 10th, 1941 and cars after that had painted "blackout" trim. The front & rear bumpers & brightwork on this car were painted in keeping with the govt. edict but they appeared to have added the remaining stainless that had been made prior to the govt. reg. and it was added as side trim. Civilian production ceased on Feb. 5th, 1942. Between the serial # and "blackout" bumpers this car was probably assembled between Dec. 10th-Feb. 5th. The car was repainted at one point but the original green is still on the wheels, under the hood, and in the trunk. The trunk has no rot and is rock solid with minor surface rust. There is a box of parts in the trunk that go with the car. This car was pulled out of a garage where it was kept for 35+ years. Pics are as it currently sits today in my driveway. On May-12-14 at 07:37:40 PDT, seller added the following information: If vehicle does not hit reserve but is close, and offer is higher than local offers, I may be willing to sell the car to the highest bidder. However, I placed a reserve as to protect what I have already spent on car and will not reveal it. Therefore I will not respond to questions rearding the reserve. This is a great place to start your build & I'm only selling as my driveway is full of cars, and I have other, more pressing issues on my plate.
