Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my original BMW R60/6 from 1974. Bought in Holland in 2006 from a German collector, it has all numbers matching on frame, engine, and front tag. I have have recently had it looked at by a vintage bike specialist. The valves, ignition timing and carburetors were cleaned and adjusted. I have added a choke and a Motobatt battery to start it quicker on cold days. The bike runs perfectly for its age, engine thumps and purrs nicely along. Starts, shifts and stops as it should. It has Boyer Brandsen electronic ignition, EME diode board and stator leads. Gas tank is solid, straight, rust free and still has the original signature BMW lining. Odometer has stopped working, as happens often with BMWs that age, but can be easily replaced for under $100 if needed. The title is free and clear no liens, issued in 2012 when I came to New York from Holland. Import documents also available, and original "antique" number plates also, if interested. These old BMWs are just a joy to ride. They are so solidly built and they float down the road so smoothly that it's impossible to wipe the smile off your face as you ride along. It looks gorgeous overall with nice, shiny paint and chrome, but does have some imperfections, nicks, scuffs and mild corrosion on small items here and there that come with use. So, it's stunning to look at, just not a perfect show bike. Please look at the extensive pictures where I have tried to capture everything. The bike is located in Brooklyn, New York, and if you want to come look at bike before bidding you are more than welcome. Otherwise you can ask any questions by email. Shipping is fine as long as the winning bidder arranges the freight and payment is received. I require full payment in 7 days of auction ending, and a deposit within 48 hours. Please contact me after the auction ends to discuss pickup and payment.
