Vehicle Detail

1966 Ford Falcon 2-Door…8154 Original Miles!!! Positives: This car would easily win "unrestored classic" in most any car show it entered. 8154 Original Miles on 4/14/2014. It had 8101 miles when I drove it home on I-25 to Albuquerque from its original owner in Santa Fe. I felt horrible driving it the 53 miles but it proved to be a pleasant and uneventful trip. The fluids appear clear including antifreeze, brake, and oil. It has a newer oil filter and the water pump is not painted so it may have been replaced. The engine does not smoke or make any noise. It brakes firm and runs cool You are basically looking at a car that looks and behaves like a 6 month old car in 1966. It starts, runs, steers, stops, shifts, opens, closes, rides, and drives like new…it really is unbelievable. All body lines are perfect with no perceptible door drop or hinge wear on hood or trunk. Both doors, trunk, hood, and gas tank access door open properly and close solidly. The interior and trunk look like the day the car was delivered...amazing!! The engine still has wax pen inspection marks from assembly line. True desert southwest rust-free time capsule…look at the pictures…this is a one of a kind car. Stored indoors and/or under car port cover its entire life. This is a true survivor, two owner, vehicle…everything works as it should! The car was used to drive around the lot of a hotel complex by the owner of the hotel…was not on open road since it was moved from Texas to New Mexico in 1990s until I recently brought it to Albuquerque. I have the Texas title signed by the seller and ready for the new owner so they can officially be the “third owner”. 170 Cubic Inch 6-cylinder with 3 speed manual transmission on the steering column. Radio Delete option block off plate. Never smoked in…still has original lighter delete plug in dash and ash tray is clean. Not a single rip, tear, or crack in the interior…all vinyl pieces are still soft and supple. Original dash is pristine. Original seats are pristine. Original headliner is pristine. Original trunk liner is pristine. Original floor liner is pristine. Original door panels are pristine. Original chrome is pristine …not a single pit other than scratch under driver headlight. Original hubcaps and rims are pristine. Even has one original head light bulb. All original glass is clear and chip free. Original spare tire was never removed. Only three tires have been replaced along with oil and filter changes…the passenger rear tire is original as is the spare...and both look and perform! Hoses appear to be original as does belt. The rear seat belts have never been unwrapped from the factory. Original weather stripping is still soft and supple with no major spits or tears. Never wrecked. Original owner’s manual. Everything works like new. No rust whatsoever…just red clay dust on frame rails from parking lot in Santa Fe. I added zinc supplement to oil and lead additive to gas before driving. Negatives: Dusty overall with a slightly dirty engine…I chose not to clean it or wax it to preserve its history. Paint scratch about 20 inches long on passenger rear quarter panel…no panel damage…just paint scratch. Again, I think it would be a mistake to repair it and it does not detract from the rest of car. Paint would need a polish to bring back original shine but it in no way is overly oxidized…again, I chose to leave it undisturbed. Minor chips from road use and thin on sharp edges from washing over the years...again, I am being very picky and this does not distract from its overall appearance. Engine dripped a few drops of oil when it sat over night after 1-hour interstate drive.
